Its hard but isn't CHEAP hard. The game forces you to learn how to play well by owning your face in, and when you do beat a level or boss it's extremely satisfying!

..you're right about stealth elements in games being nothing new, but like MGS Tenchu brought stealth gameplay to a whole different level. Tenchu isn't half the game MGS was but for pure stealth action it was pretty damn good.
I think MGS2's story wasn't that great. Got a little to over the top for my tastes and the whole "This is a simulation to train perfect soldiers" just seemed silly to me. MGS3 had a more believable and interesting story IMO. MGS4 had a good story overall, but didn't WOW me. It's been a while since I've played it so I forget a lot of details about the story.
I'm kind of a movie/video game snob tho.
The original TENCHU on ps1 was a pretty sick stealth game for it's time. Every other one after that sucked imo, but Tenchu 1 provided me hours of entertainment. Both MGS and Tenchu came out around the same time, I forget which came first tho.
Was a game that changed the way I look at video games. A true epic masterpiece. Every MGS after #1 was good, but didn't give me the same impact as the original. MSG1's story for me trumps all others.(MGS3 comes close tho)

Blizz really knows how to make great PC games with lasting appeal. TONS of people still play Diablo, Diablo 2, Brood War, and Warcraft 3. World of Warcraft is just a beast in itself, tho I feel the game is going in a bad direction coming from someone who used to play it very hardcore.
