Yeah, native res is more important than the resolution itself.
My 1080p monitor doesn't look any different clarity wise to my old 1680x1050 one, because games were run at their native res. The problem is that most games aren't run at 1080p on 1080p TV's, even upscaled it makes the image blurry.

I think 1080p will be a standard res for a long time to come, 10 years maybe.
Take a current console and make all games run at 1080p ( more than double the number of pixels ) and double the frame rate for the good looking games to 60, double processing power again. Then double the visual fidelity to match current PC games. The add in a proper widescreen FOV of 90....that's another 25% of rendering power.
625% more power needed to run games @ 1080p 60 fram...

With Nvidias use of 3D ( as PC games are not locked to a set frame rate ) you can use 3D without a 120hz monitor or TV. It simply halves the frame rates and duplicates the scene from different angles, so a 60hz game would be 30hz per eye. They recommend 120hz as 60 hz per eye is smoother, but it is not a requirement.
That's unfortunate, I thought it was one of the most open and epic shooters I've ever played, performance issues certainly hamper the enjoyment. But I'm sure if it ran at 60 frames constantly you would enjoy it more.
I can't enjoy any game that has frame rate dips so I haven't played Crysis in a while, but I can look beyond that. I have never played another shooter like Crysis.

There have been 3D Blu-Rays out before Sony even had a 3D TV on the market. James Cameron has done more for 3D than Sony.

Bioware innovate. They have created several new I.P's in the last few years...Blizzard have had the same I.P's for 10 years. Here we are all this time later and a sequel plays EXACTLY like the original, so much so that people are saying that it is just a reskin. You cannot say however that Baulders Gate is the same as any of their other I.P's

They, like Blizzard have not made a real game in 10 years. I am looking forward to Doom 4 and RAGE as much as anyone, but they are not out yet. You don't get points for unreleased games.

90% of the people I've spoken too that were in the SC2 beta said it was underwhelming and just a re-skinned SC.

There is a reason why they sell curved monitors, they are concave, it allows for a better FOV and more realistic viewing. The perception of the 3d going inwards is natural as it is an FPS...your perception is of the environment beyond the screen.
