I agree, but I definitely had fun with it at the time, so I'm not complaining. However, it wasn't a very good Metal Gear Solid entry in terms of story and if I had the choice, I would rather have a contained, linear experience rather than an "open-world".
People don't agree with your opinion. Simple!
I agree that gameplay trumps over graphics, but a games visuals are very important and its made worse when companies such as Ubisoft advertise a visually-appealing product and months later they show more, except that it looks worse. People don't take kindly to this sort of thing!
Soul Reaver... there was something about that opening cinematic! It was dark, gothic, and reeled you in right from the start! We NEED another Legacy of Kain; sequel, prequel, remake, reboot, I don't care at this point, except if it's a unnecessary spin-off!
So, this is a review for Need For Speed 2015, but you chose to use Need for Speed: Rivals screenshots (I think)?
Either way, this is the game which should have rejuvenated the series and taken it back to its street-racing roots, however... Ghost Games failed, miserably!
My hype for this game faded due to Ubisoft showing overly familiar gameplay footage over the past two years, as well as the apparent downgrade/misleading promotional videos. To be honest though, I really do want to be interested in this game again but I do agree that this looks like PC footage, which Ubisoft should have stated either at the beginning or the end of this video. I hope the game actually turns out to be really fun and exiting though!
Come to think of it, the only games I finished last year was Batman: Arkham Knight, which I found disappointing, and Bloodborne; a fantastic experience and one of the best games of 2015!
I almost finished The Witcher 3, Fallout 4 for some reason I just have no interest in finishing the storyline, and Metal Gear Solid V became too tedious during the final chapter.
Overall, it was a great year for games!
Do you really think Need for Speed (2015) is a "great game"?
After I bought it (pre-owned) and played for several hours, I noticed far too many missteps, out-of-place design choices and a slew of missed opportunities that held this game back from reigniting this tarnished franchise.
I actually decided to replay Need for Speed Underground 2 thinking nostalgia was clouding my judgement, but I found it far more enjoyable, despite it being very outdated.
Spot on! Haha!
Whoops! Of course it wasn't DICE... I must have had Battlefront on the brain as disappointment goes hand in hand with that too!
That's what I said...
Someone did actually gift it to me at Christmas, but honestly it's just very disappointing, which is such a shame because I thought this game would bring the series back to life. DICE were adamant that this game has enormous amounts of customization but literally just a select few cars are almost fully customisable. The driving is okay, but I would take Undergrounds mechanics anyday.
Really...
@DoctorFraud
That to me sounds like a complaint! ;)
"Because the movie is a massive disappointment, that is why."
Is that a fact or an opinion?
In my opinion there's only three game modes worth playing; with Walker Assault being the best, followed by Supremacy and Drop Zone. There may be 15 maps in total spread across all said modes, but there is a lack of diversity and only five maps to play the games best mode on. The lack of content is, disturbing...
BOOM!
Fallout 4 is a good game but it's not great. Bethesda played it safe and it shows. With that said, I do very much enjoy it and I've spent allot of hours with it thus far. However, this is unacceptable for a huge title such as Fallout but I think the problem not only rests with the game engine, but also the developers. If they announce the next Elder Scrolls a few years from now and it looks and feels the same as Fallout 4, we'll have a problem...
It's not mediocre but Bethesda played it safe and it definitely shows. It's still a very good game though!
Why are you even on this site?
The first game, although it seriously lacked variety, is the purest in the series in my opinion. I remember reading an interview where Patrice Desilets states the first iteration to be the least bloated and most simplistic entry in the franchise, as well as being his personal favourite.
Despite the fact that Syndicate was for the most part well-received, I view Assassin's Creed as a missed-opportunity, something that could have been truly great but has failed to ever achieve great...
