The only valid point I think he makes is the spawning under fire (usually heli or strike); but, otherwise, he's just whining about not being very good. Some perks are annoying ... but they wouldn't be called "perks" if they didn't accomplish giving someone an advantage.
the last trilogy was crap. I've been very excited to get this game. The physics and AI sound amazing. And that teaser where the apprentice FORCES the star destroyer down into the cityscape was awe inspiring.

It was a rental for me thank god... the MP was fun but yeah the LAG was crippling. The "story" sukt. Monsters looked cool but your character seemed very slow in the snow. Cutscenes in that random ugly gray room were almost always unbearable.

on my second playthru on ME I upped the difficulty in outter menu's settings rather than in game (cuz that's what the achievement implies) on that first planet... well, it resets your change of difficulty back to whatever your last playthru was. I wondered why nothing seemed harder on Nightmare but didn't bother checking... then I finally found out my mistake when I did NOT get the achievement for Nightmare. Soooooo pissed.
I don't know if i can bring myself to play thru this ...
... that it sounds like we're only getting a nonplayable new race. Everybody flamed me when i mentioned the buildings having very similar if not identical layouts thing... glad someone else noticed.

I totally agree that it is a very frustrating game in the beginning and yeah the "boss fights" were very hard every time you initially encountered them. The people you are trying to rescue seem both inept and suicidal. The shooting mechanic felt rather un-intuitive as well. After you realize you're supposed to grind and explore for those PP's that level you up to zombie annihilating bada$$, I really really got sucked in. The story that unfolds really got me hooked.
