I only care about exclusives that have a shipping date. None of the 2014 and beyond exclusives should count because they are vaporware.
Games like alan wake, too human, and killzone 2 were delayed years before they shipped.
Last guardian and agent still haven't shipped. And FFXIII Versus got renamed to FFXV and became multi-platform.
There should be an option for every gamer when you sign up for live or PSN:
Option #1: Buy a game at a certain price and it includes Blu-ray, digital version, all features, and DLC for the game's entire lifecycle with DRM.
Option #2: Buy a game and get nickel and dimed for all features, no digital version, and the ability to trade, rent, or buy it used.
Personally, I would spend $100 for a game if I didn't have to deal with the DLC, i...
@Hicken
I see what you are saying, and that is an approach. But, that approach will lead to less people investing, less developers, and less games.
To say that it is only companies that have to fix things and consumers do not need to change expectations is not going to work. Gaming consumers have to realize that investors expect certain ROI numbers and if they don't get it they won't invest in the industry.
Also, I am not sure how m...
Simply put, NO...
Final Fantasy has been a declining franchise for a few years now. Square has to start embracing change better.
As I have watched good studios and decent publishers go bankrupt, I feel the current model is broken.
The current model encouraged DLC, micro-transactions, etc... Which I absolutely hate.
And while I support the rights of consumers, this has to be balanced with company's ability to make a return on their investments in creating games.
X1 may not have had the answer that balanced everything equally, but a balance will have to be found othe...
Guess you are not playing online this generation because you have to subscribe to PSN Plus.
MS' new focus on casuals?
Killer Instinct is a core fighting game, Forza 5 is a core racing simulator, Ryse is a core action game, Deadrising 3 is a core Zombie game...
Sounds like a good core start to me...
X1 is not a rip off. X1 provides stuff you probably don't want so to you it is a rip off. Other people may want the fea...
Because it has a camera to turn on the device it turns it into a spying device?
You sure are paranoid dude.
I was talking at launch. MS has no exclusive shooter titles for launch... And yes I forgot Knack... My bad.
Killer Instinct is a very well-known and liked fighting franchise. Maybe you weren't born yet, but 90's gamers loved the franchise. Rare did not develop the new one, so I don't know why you are commenting about them.
Deadrising 1 was one of the most successful launch 360 titles. Show me, any article that says Deadrising 1 was a failure. You are probably the only person that thinks that.
So, you don't know what you are talking about dude. ...
This is funny...
I could've titled the article:
"FFIV A Realm Reborn: Skipping Xbox because Square-Enix insists on sharing servers across platforms"...
The title would have just as much merit.
FFIV was a failure when released on PC... A year and a half of development won't fix it...
Planetside 2 is already on PC...
Killzone and infamous are next iterations of those franchises.
Unmentioned was Drive Club... This is nothing compared to GT.
All are good, but hardly a reason to buy a PS4... Especially when FFIV is also on PS3. A JRPG, 2 shooters, and a racing game.
X1 has Deadrising 3, Forza 5,...
Is Kinect a revolution for casual gaming? Yes, I think so...
Is Kinect a revolution for gaming in general? I do not think so...
Kinect broadens the audience of gaming it does not innovate gaming in general...
There are over 7 billion people on the planet...
Assuming this last gen had 200 million unique console gamers... (Many people buy many consoles, buy newer versions of existing consoles, etc.)
97% of the world really doesn't care about gaming...
Polls and numbers are useless...
The choice of console is more about what you value than anything. Inferior is defined by each person based on what they want. X1 may have some inferior performance specifications, but the voice recognition, improved motion controls with Kinect, and its design as a media device in the OS are superior in different ways that people may or may not value. So while you pay $100 more, are you getting something important to you?
Also, it has yet to be proven whether the inferior s...
They are Microsoft platform exclusives.
Or Sony excluded...
I said it wasn't a bad thing. I was just expecting something totally new and completely different. When, Bungie left MS I thought it was because they were creatively constrained.
Destiny is not a creative leap over Halo. Destiny is another Halo in a dynamic environment and a large suite of weaponry.
I just expected more from Bungie. Do I know what I expected? No. I just thought it would be more...
I wish everyone would move on. We all know that PS4 will outsell X1 this year.
This articles should be banned because they are no longer news.
I continue to be unimpressed by Destiny. I thought Bungie was going a completely new direction when they separated from MS. Turns out, all they have done is put Halo into a dynamic environment with more weapons choices...
Every time I have seen Destiny, its mechanics remind me of Halo. Not, a bad thing, but, hardly a reason for them to totally separate from MS.
I predict Destiny sells better on PS4 than X1 simply because PS has not had a Halo experience....
LOL.
As soon as anything says that X1 > PS4 in any way, the Sony fanboys leap on it!
MS has a lot more cloud computing experience than Sony. Azure has been a MS product for years now... All they are doing is using it for different things like gaming.
Good on them...
Sony has Gaikai which will help them as well.
I expect that in the end game experiences will be similar on both systems.
This article is wrong. She is only leading the hardware and studios group. The operating systems (aka the platform services) is being led by Terry Myerson. There is also a Cloud computing leader Satya Nadella. And an Apps leader Qi Lu.
So, the four of them will define the Xbox from each of those four aspects.
What MS seems to be doing is changing from a vertical product organization to a horizontal product organization.
