When you bought an X1 game it gave you both a cloud version and the physical version. As far as I am concerned that gave me a digital copy.

I don't care what the license says.

It should be great content (Games, media, and apps)...

But now a days it seems to be more about hardware specs, policies, and BS marketing...

Please gamers. Let's bring it back to great content!

I wouldn't expect a lot of new game announcements from either MS or Sony.

Maybe one retail and one digital game from each camp.

I would expect more announcements about hardware, XMB/Dashboard, and development features than games.

Casual gamers are attracted to content and natural input.

Content needs to be friendly to casuals who typically avoid violence based games and gravitate to family friendly stuff such as music, dance, fitness, activity, puzzle, etc. that are family and spouse friendly.

Input plays a role but it must seem natural like when people talk to each other and use body language. It is not about making it feel like other devices they interact with. The Wii U is a ...

This is simple, both companies allocate launch hardware conservatively to ensure they meet their obligations to retailers.

They are building more, and will have more on launch, but they got to stick with what they know they can ship. Allocating less, and then having more is much better than over allocating and having to tell customers that their pre-order would not be fulfilled because they over allocated.

It is good that PS4 will support PS3 games.

Really, what does that have to do with this thread? I thought this was about xbox features not whether some random gamer (if that's what you are) wants to buy xbox one...

I am fine with the PS4 and I will eventually get one...

But this is a big pile of BS. True, consoles usually start the gen ahead of current PCs. But within a year or two PCs out do consoles.

Consoles are made to last 5 years or more, gaming pcs are meant to be top of the line today. They are replaced with higher end stuff within months of being built.

@SurfCfl

There is no difference between the DRM license and the licenses for all console games today.

ALL CONSOLES TODAY ONLY PROVIDE YOU WITH A LICENSE TO PLAY THE GAME NOT OWN IT. Don't believe me, then go read the game licenses today.

I don't trade my games, I don't rent, I don't sell them used, and I don't lend them out. What advantage the does the ability to do those things have for me?

At least when MS had DRM, they were giving me the digital version free with the physical version. Today, I buy both the digital and physical game which ends up costing more.

I disagree completely...

There should be two options that gamers can choose on their gamertag...

1) Live with what DRM is and offers, but when you buy a game it gives you all the features, DLC, and add-ons

2) Have the ability to sell, rent, trade, but get nickel and dimed for features, DLC, and add-ons.

I would gladly pay more for a game if I didn't have to deal with the nickel and diming. And I am sure there are gamers ...

The reason devts and pubs build these games is because they sell. Compare sales of AAA FPS with other games and there is really no comparison.

And unlike what people think, devts and pubs aren't making adequate return on investments so not only do we get stuck with FPS, we also get stuck being nickel and dimed with DLC and add ons...

Nope, I am just guessing like every other supposed expert on this site.

But, from what I see today, the casual gamer is being ignored (outside of maybe Kinect Sports Rivals and Disney Fantasia). Also, MS, Sony, and third parties announced a lot of titles and they are all advances, but nothing is really screaming innovation.

Plus, typically consoles are relatively low in inventory the first year.

And like I said, out of all the games announ...

I think that people will be surprised at how low next gen console sales will be. None of the next gen consoles look like they have a "must have" game or feature yet.

Yep, and Sony never follows MS?

PSN Plus being required for online multiplayer, remove dual boot from PS3, cross game chat, etc.

I see them copying each other... And that is because of competition... That is good for everyone.
