It's actually a very low risk for Valve. They are built to order. If many people pre order them then they will make many. If not then they make less. Also Valve is a privet company and is not on the stock market so sales numbers from douche bags like Patcher mean nothing to Valve and has 0 effect on the company.
I feel good about it. Sales ARE important. I bought the WiiU. It sold low and now It's not getting 3rd party support. So YES, I want PS4 to sell well, it's my investment. Wish I had some cash to drop on Sony as a company at $16 per share, it's at a all time low now.

Nintendo has 18.16 billion in the bank. I don't think they are going anywhere. I watched a stock analyse do some numbers and they said Nintendo has enough money in the bank to fail with 27 systems in a row for over 60 years before I would be bankrupt. Remember Nintendo has more money then Target, and most people think of Target as a big company. Also bigger then Sony.
