Maybe if it sells well and they add all the sales on PC steam to the steam box it may stand a chance, but the console alone won't win. I love Steam but the big thing they are missing is 1st party exclusive games. Almost all games on Steam are 3rd party. Valve needs to take a step back and bring us some more Half life, Portal, L4D; and really work hard on making them must have games, no shortcuts.

Don't forget Valve is a privet company with profit. They don't need to cater to investors. They won't make millions of Steam boxes day 1; let them sit on store shelf's. Valve will follow supply and demand. If the demand is high then will build more steam boxes. If the demand is low they will build less. They only thing I keep hearing is the OS on PS3 is not as good as Live. I have a few stupid friends only buying Xbone for that reason. One friend said he will buy Xbone over ps4 because it has HBO-GO.... I give up on stupid people

PS3 will last longer then PS2. It's still nice and HD. Just wait into it hits $99 all the casuals and poor folks like me will buy buying millions more. PS4 will be great but don't think PS3 will die in the next 5 years. I give it another 7-8 years at least.
