As many have stated Microsoft is firmly against cross-platform play.
Plus with a fairly close amount of PS3's & 360's... more people bought and played SF4 on the Sony side. Now that the PS4 is totally dominating... there wouldn't be a considerable enough number of Xboned people into fighting games for this to impact Capcom or the genre.
Look up the sales figures for fighting games. Sony dominates those numbers.

I liked the previous MGO and this looks better. I'd like to see a match type with two teams competing to take down a computer controlled Metal Gear. Maybe that could be possible this time around.
Fighting games have always been the domain of Sony. So it's not surprising that there is little backlash.

None of that has stopped Occulus Rift from becoming a thing. So those factors haven't stopped progress yet.

Jim should have settled for half a cheese burger and a small coke. He is crazy to turn down a role in such an awesome project. I'd take the gig for free just to be part of it.
The problem is going to be the amount of extra storage needed to house both sets of audio data. On a smaller game that is doable easy. MGS4 filled the entire blu-ray disc. MGS5 will probably have just as much voice data if not more.
That's not really a problem since not everyone buys every game. You would really rather they put out less software so they aren't providing too much value?
