As being a participant in the SCEA beta I doubt they'll have initial issues. I can't go into detail obviously because of an NDA but trust in that the launch will be fine. I think I know why they've decided to go low key but again I can't really comment. What I will say is that HOME is going to be like nothing before.. If you thought the whole Second Life world was something I think HOME is going to blow it away. Next-gen gamers are a social and overall connected bunch. HOME plays into everyth...
I tried to get a legit Blu-ray HD-DVD article posted and it was denied by fanboys on both sides. I personally think Blu-ray and HD-DVD news deserves to be on this site since the PS3 supports BR and the 360 has the auxiliary drive. This on the other hand is a bad misleading post about a format that has NOTHING to do with gaming at all. Honestly I['m surprised teamxbox had such a slow day they posted it.
Story has changed , comment no longer relevant.
If you closely look over the graphics they're not that great.. However the effects applied to the replay shots are rather nice. I look forward to seeing more from this title as a replacement for the upset that was Forza 2. I only have room for two sims at GT will always take one of them.
So how does one get in..? I have an IGN founders club membership from Comcast that works across all the IGN network sites. For whatever reason I didn't know about this and I can't find any info on how to get in..?
HD movie news is now gaming news.. I've got news for you, the Playstation 3 supports Blu-ray disc. The Xbox 360 has an external HD-DVD drive, which means it supports HD-DVD. If the consoles supports it then this site should support it as well. While this site focuses on gaming there's no reason members can't get their gaming and HD news in the same place since it'll all end up in the same place when they get to their consoles.
I'll never understand why these WB articles get written.. WB is on the board of directors at Blu-ray as of late 2005. If they're going anywhere it'll be BR exclusive, which I doubt is anytime soon as they enjoy their money (think Departed). It'd take more then 150 million for them to give up that seat.. period end of story.
This would be a great move for the PS3 this holiday season AND Blu-ray.. Give consumers a $400 40GB PS3 featuring the free PSN. Plus introduce them to 1080p by way of HDMI Blu-ray with the blockbuster Spiderman 3. Note this would be a $400 Blu-ray player that plays games! Talk about getting consumers off the fence. We know the games are both here now and more coming in the following weeks.. The recent and upcoming Blu-ray releases include some of the biggest blockbusters in history so this is...
@ WilliamRLBaker
lol you should save your laughter for the mirror.. Did you even read my post? They need to include a quote feature for members like you. In short TL51 discs working in g1-3 HD-DVD players is a rumor. The Google comment was in reference to the differences not the CH-DVD or TL51 support.. While it does seem it would have helped you. As for your differences comment.. Wrong again.. Did you even read the post above yours? That user while incorrect named another diff...
Let me begin by saying I own a PS3 and an HD-DVD addon for my 360. I also own both Blu-ray and HD-DVD movies. I prefer Blu-ray for it's storage capacity, cost, and supported audio BUT I like the idea of region free HD-DVDs.
The reason I said desperate in my title is because this article twists the truth.. I first saw this thing days ago and I decided not to spread it's bias. The concept is simple actually, these movies are "hidden" under different distributors names b...
@ DarthNihilus
It's not physically similar.. It's technically different. While the new JPN HD players will accecpt current HD-DVDs, current HD-DVD players will now accept their discs.
@ bloody diarrhea
Check Google because I'm not one to give a lesson for free.. The difference goes much deeper then storage capacity.
Actually they already had quad layer blu-ray discs at 25GB per layer (100GB).. Not to mention there's been talk of both TDK and Sony having 6-8 layer discs from 200GB+. The thing is Hitachi showcased a 100GB 4 layer disc early this year and it plays on CURRENT Blu-ray players unlike this new HD-DVD disc.
What kind of tool are you? You went through the trouble to make the avatar.. Then you made that name on N4G.. What would possess you to be here if you're so anti Sony and so anti N4G..? Don't bother even replying, try and get a life, and consider yourself ignored.
Oh and.. numbers? lol Nice reputable website. Seriously, get a life dude.
lol only 10 more to go!
The whole reason I included that other bit it to clarify things for everyone. They capped things at lvl 11 but the points kept going and challenges kept getting beat. Completing the challenges is a big boost to ranking up.. Most of us have completed most of them so it'll take a bit to reach the new cap. We were all hoping they banked the points and we'd auto lvl up but that isn't the case. In the end it's not a big deal but it does effect testers so I thought I'd include it.
PS...
The title says it all.. While this may please some of the Apple fanboys they still got screwed IMO. No more then a month and some days out and they dropped the price over 30%! That's huge!
I am looking forward to a iPod touch simply to hack the crap out of it but I'm patient as I currently own a HTC 6800.
I still doubt it as there's been nothing new in the beta.. If it turns out to be true the SCEA beta was a joke.
I'm surprised he wasn't asked or commented on the PS3 being lead console for the next Madden..
The PS3Tag crew are the same people behind the SDF.. IMO the Sony Defense Force bring a bad name to PS3 enthusiasts. Besides all that, PS3Tags was a much better, cleaner, customizable site. It's a shame to see PS3Tags go out like this but they had trouble with hosting from time to time.
While not the most prominent the WSVG has/had a great deal of exposure.. As gaming continues to become more popular events like those the WSVG hold/held will also grow in popularity. It's a shame to see them go as they like many other event organizers who are now gone were clearly before their time IMO.
As for the comments above.. It's really too bad that's the mentality of the majority of American gamers for organized gaming (including some gamers themselves, if you get that)....
