I like the idea of a controller that splits apart. then Sony could release an optional left side with d-pad and analog stick reversed for people that prefer it that way.
A right side with six face buttons would be good also, for fighting games.

I think they should create their own social networks for gamers. Kind of like the Wii U does but a lot better.

Never going to happen as long as MS is handling all the match making servers(with the exception of EA games). They may not be dedicated, but it still cost a lot of money to handle hundreds of online games, without the Live fee MS would have to shut games down and indie devs wouldn't be able to afford online play in their titles. Ezz, You got that backwards, those games made the Playstation brand what is today. Those studios were making games before Playstation existed and would of just developed for another console or PC.

I personally know more people that don't have their consoles online. A lot of people use wireless Internet providers that wont work with Live.
I'm a avid gamer, I just don't have a need for a handheld. And the PSPs have always had to many games that are similar to the superior console versions for my taste. If I lived in a city and commuted on a bus, I would get one though.
Nothing wrong with giving people options and replayability. Don't play the multi-player if you don't want to.
