While I'm disappointed about that lack of BC, I can see why it has to be that way.
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't Sony need to stick with the same pain in the a#@ architecture in order to allow BC or at least have a cell chip in it?

They stated awhile back it would cost too much to completely remake VII. The older Final Fantasy games were huge, IX was the last one with a classic world map, after that they just got smaller and smaller.
It was to introduce the world of Destiny to people, not the games them selves.

You do realize Sony came into this with well over 100 million PS2s in peoples homes and MS came into it with 20-30 million Xboxs sold. Who do you really think is coming out ahead this gen?
MS has done a damn good job of taking a large piece of the gaming pie.

While I agree with him on finally ditching the old DS design, it's nothing like the 360 controller.
The joysticks have never felt right IMO, the old controller was made in the middle of the PS1s life cycle as an afterthought.
I'd say the new controller is one of the things I'm the most excited about, and there's a lot to be excited for.
