If anything, I would expect Sony's next console (presumed to be the Playstation 4), will introduce 4k resolution far earlier than any of Sony's direct competitors in the next generation of consoles.
Of course at a premium up-front price compared to the opposition. But near-term (i.e. six year) past experience has shown that Sony doesn't rely on it's past laurels to invoke hardware. Nor to cement some ...

If it included all the DLC, the Xbox 360 version would then include 6-8 discs. Pretty damn excessive for a "current-gen" title.
Or is it because the "Complete" trilogy, with all DLC included, couldn't be packed into less than three discs for Xbox 360 and therefore Microsoft's "Parity" policy has affected EA's publishing decision on this trilogy package?
It's clear that Gamespot (and many other online gaming sites, for that matter) took into account the bugs and glitches that are immediately being corrected with the day-one patch from Ubisoft.
