So I understand the "Age of Princesses" is over so they are looking for 7 new entities to open Kingdom Hearts.... or whatever the hell is going on, but how is all explained and what happened to the old worlds? Did I miss osmething skipping 2.8-IX over "I am NOT paying $40 for a demo disc??? This story is so convoluted and they burnt through 99% of Disney lore getting to nowhere and leaving a cliff hanger for yet again ANOTHER damn KH game.

GOW is open-linear and that design (Metroidvania-ish perhaps) is a tried and true format that allows for meaty content without overstaying its welcome. Uncharted Lost Legacy also was partially open linear alongside its mostly wide linear gametype and it was phenomenal.

It's a flawless platformer for sure. I completed everything from start to final boss and the only thing left to do is the bonus stage area which is 10x harder but not the end of the world and the post game content (there are flowers for boss challenge replays and a new one per level.) It's a gorgeous game and a world I can explore, but almost every single control feature is either archaic or a chore. It's an extremely enjoyable story but it's not that fun to play. I have no idea how this won GOTY or even has so many 10's.

From what I have seen it's around a 7/8 which isnt bad for studio ambitiously coming back into the console market. The technical issues can be patched but the vast majority of complaints are legitimately biased. "Tired genre" "gruff white male" "not as good as other PS4 games" Just because GOW is amazing doesnt mean this game deserves a 6 for not reaching those levels. Bend is super passionate and a lot of a-holes like IGN shit all over it
