Huh, they put so much effort into this thing and then of all things, the power button can fail. Oh dear. This is why I never buy new tech as it comes out.
Also the Steamdeck will be pretty obsolete soon with all the new improvements with AMDs iGPU in the last year.

Im quite surprised by the lowish numbers for Zelda BoTW and I dont see Metroid Dread anywhere. Shocking.

Hooking up a pc or laptop to a TV is just as easy as connecting a console. Wtf lol

@strotee
My pc built in 2013 for €1100 lasted me until last year gaming wise.
No clue who rebuilds their system every 1-2 years, if they do, they certainly have more money then sense.

Consoles just have APUs, they will never be better then a decent CPU+GPU. I mean, console tech is already couple years old by the time they come out...looking at you Zen 2.

Lol I guess you just have a lame PC. Unlucky.

I have not had to troubleshoot a PC game in a long time, only with emulators. I updated my GPU drivers when I can be bothered, if it all. No clue why some people struggle so much with gaming on a PC.

Ive got a switch alongside my gaming laptop.

Who would of thought? The weaker system cant produce as high resolution....what a waste of time and effort.

Am I the only one who thinks this isnt a RPG? More like a FPS with RPG elements? Same for Witcher 3, Hack n slash with RPG elements.

PC is still king. Some things will never change :D

Fair enough, I did word that incorrectly. The CPU wouldnt produce more heat but would run at a higher temp as the heat is not being transferred away. My bad. But you do seem to be focussed on knit picking on this point, you havent really explained why I am wrong as a whole.

So in your example of the changing variable with the CPU being overvolted, that would have an impact on the heat, of course. A smaller heatsink would also impact the overall running temp of the CPU too, ...

Im not saying the cooling isnt efficient enough for the CPU, its still adequate for its purpose (which is to prevent it from thermal throttling). But the people who say the CPU is running cooler because there is being more heat being expelled doesnt add up for me.

Yeah im curious what Gamer Nexus will find out too, time will tell! :D

@Eonjay

The heat of the cpu is dependant on the cooling solution. If you remove the heatsink entirely, would the cpu still produce the same level of heat? No, it would keep getting hotter until it thermal throttles and/or eventually shutdowns to protect itself.

So why anyone think that the heat levels of the CPU would stay the same even though the cooling solution has been nerfed...I have no idea. *facepalms*

If the CPU is the source of the heat, how can it be running cooler if the PS5 has warmer air inside it? Smaller heatsink means worse cooling performance.

Apparently the fan has less fins now too as well, so the extra 3-4mm length of the fins probably cancel it out.
But 55 degrees is well within thermal thresholds, its nothing to worry about at all. Who ever said thermal throttling could be an issue is just an idiot.
Cant deny the facts though, this is a...

There is a section in that video about how Crash bandicoot got around the tiny memory available on the PSX. This is what a developer can do when working within constraints and arent lazy.
So just imagine this with HD graphics...yeah pretty much what the guy in the video is talking about regarding Ratchet & Clank on the PS5.

You should design a cooling system that you can jam inside a tiny enclosure that would run 4k graphics which is fully portable and would be comfy to hold...show them how its done, I dare ya :P
What kind of battery life do you think that would as well? *facepalms*

You don't think they are already working on the true Switch successor behind closed doors? Idiot

1826d ago 1 agree4 disagreeView comment

Ive already got a switch, why would I need this? This seems to be the general consensus from I've read on actual Nintendo fan websites. So where are u pulling your assumption out of?? I wonder....
