I agree with you that Microsoft deserves all the praise for bringing this piece of material that ups the replay value of any game by a lot. Value to the online service not only has to deal with the extra stuff you get like cross online play, or online play in general, but the type of games that you can play online. The 360 does offer games to play online, but you have to think that some of these games that are getting the most play through are multiplat games where they can be played on the PSN for free, not to mention the PC

Yeah, though those kind of games are rare to have just like MGS4 most games out now are either 3rd party, 1st or 2nd. Unlike last gen the 1st and 2nd party are becoming more important, because although games like MGS4 and Gears are great games and exclusive to their system they are still one game and there many other games that create a console and it seems there are more 1st party games that create the PS3 than the 360 as of now
It's not about multiplatform timed exclusivity that sells consoles but their first party, these are the games that show off what a system can do, in house gaming is the most important.

Not to be a fanboy, but this was what I was afraid of, you want people everywhere to enjoy a great series no matter the console, but the rpg gamer in me wanted the most popular rpg to spread it wings and see what the next gen had to offer for Final Fantasy, hopefully Square can find a way to make it at least better then the DVD limitation can give it
