I agree with all of you. The first like five minutes....okay...ten minutes I was like "What in the hellz am I doing? These controls are botched!" But after I got used to it, I honestly was sitting there, smiling, and doing some pretty crazy 'pollen' collecting combos. Once the controls click, you realize that the game wouldn't work any other way.
Chaos, I played the demo when it was first released...granted it was only a few days ago, but let me try and explain it som...
That was...beautiful.
As much as I want a remake... I have to admit you're right. I see exactly where you're coming from and I have been nearly spat on by some friends when we had this discussion years ago. If they could update the graphics and orchestrate the music ONLY then I'd be in bliss... but otherwise they might go around changing things that will, ultimately, disappoint certain fans. Catch-22.
(However, I don't really want a continuation, rather than a remake. I'd much rather have a remake ...
All jokes aside though, and since I'm at work, I'll keep it brief as possible. Everything I write is strictly opinion, as well.
I agree with what most people from N4G have already said. It would not end the console war, but yes, it would most definitely close in those margins to very, very significant levels. I honestly know three friends that would go out and buy a ps3 today if a FFVII remake was announced. That should give some idea to both Sony, SE, and all of us how this wo...
I thought that scene was pretty lame as well, to be honest. It reminded me more of Mr. and Mrs. Smith but just the same... it was over the top and really made me like "Hurry up and show me Snake again. Done with this cutscene.."
I agree. I haven't played MGO nor GTAIV Online. I eventually will, just to see what it's like, but I'm not expecting greatness. The industry (as well as developers) should learn that some games DONT have to be online.
Jameness: Yeah, for sure. I love creepy games and being creeped out.. so I may actually spring the money for this one for the experience alone.
LOFT: Couldn't have said it better myself... or have I already? Haha anyway; the demo didn't leave me too impressed but I'm reading the reviews and they are pretty darn good. Add to that that all I played was a demo and the story is intriguing.. more than likely you're right. It's worth it.
Finally, Dir En Grey, for sure....
...I smell a special edition of Chris Hanson's Dateline. Haha all jokes aside though... he really does look like that guy from Office Space to me. Michael Bolton...
Only a dik would quote another dik and think it was genius. Get a life. Better yet, get some tact.
I understand this is a survival horror game. I love the Silent Hill Series, I have all of them and will pick up homecoming when it comes out. And yeah, the darker, the grittier the better.. but don't blind me. I want to be able to navigate.
Also I know fighting isn't the focus of the game, but still, it should be satisfying. I'll have to check out the demo again, but as of now it just reminds me of an old ps2 game. A lower budget one (I'm going SOLELY by the demo here. I haven...
Is the 1942 that's coming out for PSN the same one that's already out for the XBL? If so, I played it with my bro last night and it was...well meh to me. It was fun, and I love rail shooters, but I think I miss the classic version as compared to the new updated version. You guys let me know what you think when you play.
Edit: Okay, I checked. It is the same one. 1942: Joint Strike.
Am I alone in saying that I didn't enjoy this demo? If I had to rate it I'd give it a 6 out of 10. (and yes this is just a big 'if'. I know the game has much more to offer and the story has already intrigued me)

They just sound like dbags to me. Arrogance that's not quite backed up.
The things that caught my eye were Zack and Cloud, to be honest. And I still don't know how I feel about Shiva being a g*ddamn bike.
Erm. read title, haha. It's gonna be a good one, I feel it. I'm loving this PixelJunk series.
BadA$$
Nice reference. Maybe a magic trick for MS PR? I know a good one with a pencil...
Seriously though, MS PR needs to get some tact. It really does sicken me to read crap like this over and over from them. Where do they get this boldness? Their competitors must be thinking exactly what I'm thinking over there in Japan: What dbags...
I can't believe you just said that. Maybe you meant it the otherway around. Yeah, I'm sure you had to have on second thought.
(In case you didn't get the sarcasm I'll be more direct. MS PR = Midlife Crisis Dbags)
Alright, here's my opinion on the matter. Before I get blasted as a fanboy, I'll admit that I own a PS3 and my brother owns the 360. I think the 360 (despite some hardware problems) Is a great system. However I'm actually quite ticked at MS as a company, and less about their product. They have the largest and worst case of roid rage I have ever seen. They think they're such hot shyte. Well I have something that needs to be said; forget about having to PAY for XBL, let's look at really matters...
I really don't care if it's exclusive or not. I just want it to EXIST. Plus, this is one rare occasion in which I have to say, from the bottom of my being, "This is one of the greatest games ever made. Play it. Love it." to any and everyone.
