Yes that's what bothers me with this these sort of moves. Console manufactures and publishers getting more power over gamers. It's a very dangerous precedence for console gaming.
If these rumors are true it's more reason for me to hate MS. Anything they touch turns to shit.
First they pushed for paying to play on line. Then they pushed for paid DLC and time exclusives. If these rumors are true then we will have further barriers for gamers.

Well this is Sony's hallmark and the main reason why i still support them even though i am mainly a PC gamer.

lol!. I buy an unlocked smartphone every year at $700 plus. $600 really was the best investment i made regarding and electronic entertainment device. Still is the best. I am still amazed that people complained about the PS3 price considering what it offered back then. Heck i upgrade my PC every 18 months spending $600 upwards.
Some console only gamers are really cheap.
Dollar for dollar the PS3 is the best there is and i have many electronics devices.

@gamerTk421. Trend you say?. Sony had everything to loss this gen like Nintendo did back in the PS1 era. The difference though is Sony completely took all the oppertunities they were given and decimated the competition. MS didn't do that this gen. Infact when all is said and done the PS3 will reach 100 million and MS is in last place.

For people that compare this to mobile devices. There is a big difference. With smartphone for example you almost always have internet connection. Consoles are not designed to have 3/4G mobile connections as they are home consoles.
PC is a different story as PC's generally always have internet connection...
Please please be on next gen as well.
I year head start, not costing 600 at launch, easy to develop console are much bigger advantage than brand name alone as we have seen with MS with the x360.
This time around it will be an even playing field while Sony still has the brand name, Europe and Asia over MS. As such Sony is still in the driving seat as such i don't agree with his prediction.
