There are a lot of reasons why this focus on indie devs is good for sony.
One other reason is to really attract mobile devs and gamers to PS.These will not be android games.
And i can buy all launch PS4 games on launch if i want to. What is it to you that other people will buy many games on day one?.

However considering the two tech demos. It's amazing what the PS4 is able to do considering that it has a low end CPU and mid range GPU compare to current PC's. Especially compare to the best that Navida has to offer for the time being.

That's why the more backlash the better. I have started to see some x360 fans defend a possible blocked use game decision by MS as something good for MS which is stupid and dangerous for the industry as a whole.

PS is primarily a console gaming brand. Until Gakai is fully utilize i don't see how Sony can maximize it further outside of console space.
In Console space. Sony has done most of what it can in maximizing the PS brand.

Yes but Sony's vision was with PS when it was introduced was to push gaming to mainstream and legitimize it beyond just gaming for kids.
People before Sony always see console gaming as something for kids. Sony wanted console gaming to be treated as a serious form of entertainment which is where we are now today.
Even since then they have always promoted how they have pushed gaming boundaries to new levels like they did with games like FF7, MGS, GT, GTA, ...
The whole trilogy is great apart from the last 10 minutes. No doubt i am buying the next one.
Since the ps inception Sony have always aimed to push the boundaries in gaming. This meant allowing devs more freedom in pushing their visions.In doing so pushes the gaming industry forward and ensure that the PS brand caters to all gamers around the world. It helped Sony solidify the PS brand as the global gaming brand.

Agree mike. Sony does both which is a good thing. Without the franchise Sony will have less resources to support more unique gaming experiences.
Regardless of what people think of franchise. They make money because they are popular and there is a demand.
Even if they are yearly games it is alright as there are gamers that want that. If people dont like it then they should not buy it.
All i know is once sony devs ND in particular start releasing games on the PS4 it is going to be so good that they will be enjoyed by millions and win so many awards.

It's second only to the PS2 for me. It is the best of this generation though simply because it has the best games this gen.
