Yeah, my 60GB also YLOD about two months ago. I even can't send it to Sony in my country or get it reflown. The only fix is Gilsky method and that also costs 60$ (I really don't want to try fixing it myself). Damn, wish I could buy a slim, but I already took a lease for an i5... damn, I miss my PS3 T_T *runs away crying*
I highly doubt that M$ will raise the price of Xlive even more, it is hard to justify the 60$ as is, when competition offers almost the same experience for free.
And no, 720(or whatever) will not have nearly the same failure rate, I bet that won't be even close, maybe 5%. M$ can't be that stupid and step on the same rake.
You are correct about Halo games, but probably they will be multiplat, and timed/exclusive dlc.

Yeah, I'm bulding my first PC with i5-760 and GTX460(and another one down the road). From what I have read, and I have done a lot of that, it is the best card price/performance wise. In SLI it beats GTX480 by some 10-20%, and all equally and even some more expensively priced ATI cards. Not to mention nVidia's supperior SLI scaling, Physx, etc.

I am a pirate and I have no real qualms against companies who try to protect their investment. But for a goverment to step in and make laws which are for lobbied corporations and select individuals, and are against the people, that is not acceptable.

Atleast one good thing about where I live is the internet. I got a 100Mbps connection for about 20$, I can get 200Mbps for slightly more than 25$ and 500Mbps + some added features for a 100$. No caps, no mail's about piracy, no other downsides. ^_^

Actually, the internetz are to blame for a bunch of this gen's drawbacks, if you really think about it.
Yes, I do know the req system spec's for SC2. But since I am a gamer and I'm gonna buy a new PC, might as well pay slightly extra to get something from the top shelf. So I can play the latest & greatest. Besides, that combo is the best bang for the buck.
Let's be real, PC is great, but it has as much Cons as Pros, same for consoles.
That's why I am gonna play the superior PC version xD
