Is it just me or does that not make any sense at all. Is it a screenshot from the actual game? I would think that the resolution of the game, like 1920x1080, would be much more important information that a megapixel count. We are talking about digital screenshots here.

These screenshots are 5760x3240 which is just silly. The PS3 doesn't output at the resolution so I don't understand why they have the screenshots.

Its always good to hear things like this. I have always been a fan of id and most of the games they make. I have been very interested in RAGE ever since it was announced and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

I remember when ZeniMax first acquired id a while back. I am glad to hear that the partnership is working as well as I had hoped it would. It sounds like ZeniMax understands the way id operates and is allowing them to make the best game they can; Bethesda seems to o...

Maybe you should read the article before you make a comment about it.

First of all, the game was announced for Xbox 360 and PC at the same time when they revealed the game during E3 2005.

Secondly, they may have initially said the game was going to be open world, but the first time they actually showed the game to people at E3 2009, it was set as a linear game. If you go back and look you will see that Remedy changed a lot about the game since its initial announcement. They changed what the main character looks like, they changed his motivation...

I'm not saying that the reviews should be removed entirely.

I just think it is a bit silly that the site gets inundated with reviews from every website under the sun for a week every time a new game comes out.

It is likely not an issue for anybody else and its just one of those little things that I notice. I can probably just do a better job of having it not annoy me.

While I would love to see a new Elder Scrolls game coming from Bethesda, it is safe to say that we aren't going to see it this year. First of all, Bethesda doesn't like to announce new titles at E3, they usually announce titles during other events or just whenever they decide.

They also won't be talking about any Elder Scrolls games because other titles that ZeniMax(Bethesda's parent company) will be pushing this year. We are going to get to see Fallout: New V...

I love to see a game that has a good lighting system. I really don't like the visual style of adding a bloom effect to everything like a lot of games do. I realize Alan Wake isn't even out yet but it is a great example of a great lighting system. Crysis and HL2 also have fantastic lighting as well.

When you get light to absorb or bounce off different surfaces they way they are supposed to I think it adds a lot to the overall visual quality. Shiny skin is the worst thi...

Don't get me wrong, Nobuo Uematsu is amazing. He has created some of my favorite music. But if the article is specifically for PS3 games, then he doesn't belong on the list because he hasn't composed any music for any PS3 game. If the list is all games in general, then yes, Uematsu wins.

I am sorry but that headline just shouldn't exist. You just can't have the top 5 PS3 composers "of all time". You can say "Top 5 composers of PS3 titles TO DATE." I am sick and tired of people throwing around the "of all time" phrase all willy nilly. If it was a list of greatest composers of SNES titles, then yes, you could do "of all time" but the PS3 is still part of the current generation.

The second major problem is putting ...

EA doesn't have the right to just sell publishing right to a game to Activision or another publisher. Respawn Entertainment is an independent developer that has decided to publisher through EA and only EA. That is, of course, until the contract is up and they would have to renew.

On top of that, it is unlikely that EA would even want to not publish future Respawn titles as they are likely going to be great games.

Of course it is fair to point out the the reason IW ex...

Respawn Entertainment is a privately held company. They have also announced that they have an exclusive publishing agreement with EA Partners.

First, West and Zampells (the company owners) wouldn't sell the company to Activision because they obviously don't want to work with them. Also, Activision wouldn't want to buy the company because it is owned by the two people that they just fired. On top of that, even if Activision owned the studio, any game that they make would have to b...

Destructoid doesn't have one unified opinion. I have my problems with Destructoid but they have a staff of people will different opinions. Nick Chester gave GoW3 a s 10 out of 10. It is Reverend Anthony that wrote this "Counterpoint" article hence the title of the posting being "Counterpoint".

If he agreed with Chester's review then there would be no need for him to write his own article about the game. One good thing at Dtoid is that they have a diverse staff...

I understand your point but I am not suggesting that the retail market disappears over night. There will be people that prefer a physical copy for many years to come.

There can also be a balance between retailers and Microsoft. In ten years time Microsoft will be able to ignore GameStop pretty much completely. They can work with big box store like walmart, bestbuy, and the like. Those stores sell the hardware but can also sell MS points and games but in the form of a card with a ...

When it comes to the PC world, I don't buy a game if it isn't on steam (with the exception of a couple games on Good Old Games). I also don't buy games that have any additional DRM outside having the game tied to my Steam account.

Having a disc in my computer to play a game is just a nuisance. And proving that I can play the game with some ridiculous 24 character string when i reinstall a game, or reformatted my computer, or get a new computer. It just isn't worth it when you loo...

You bring up a really good point. I guess I just always assumed that PSN and XBLA titles would work on the next generation of hardware. That would totally suck if they didn't. Same goes for the full games. It would be reassuring to know that any game on GoD would work on whatever next generation of hardware comes out.

Yeah, I can't claim to know all or any of the real details surrounding this whole ordeal. The only thing I know is that Infinity Ward is responsible for making some amazing games. It seems wrong to treat the two guys at the head of IW with such little respect.

These games might have some terrible titles, but they are hardly stealing from Sony games. First of all, "scrap metal" is a common terminology used in English. the phrase existed long before Twisted Metal was ever though of.

Also, "War of the Gods" as a title existed in 1991 as a 4 issue comic book from DC. Outside of the fact that the plot isn't like God of War at all, we could just as easily accuse Sony of stealing the name for the video game from the comic ...

I understand that we are starting to get games that exceed the 8.5GB capacity limit of the DL-DVD but an add-on Blu-ray drive is not the solution.

1. The first solution would be to control the game that you are developing. Even a game like Modern Warfare 2, with single player, co-op, and an extensive multiplayer fits on one disc. the game look amazing and runs smooth and Infinity Ward didn't seem to run into any major DVD capacity issues.

2. The second solution would...
