The problem with mandatory installs(anything over 3 gb) is that there are 20 gb ps3 owners as well as 4. That means if a PS3 owner with say, 40 gb's of data, buys 4 games with a 5 gb install, there;s 20 gb's missing already of his 40. Even though I don't have a problem with mgs4 using it, I'll be damned if this becomes some stupid trend for games. I'm not gonna like having to delete stuff off my ps3 to use it.
Even though I'll never have to since I have an 80 gb :p

This was the final official announcement. Every other article was a magazine confirming it saying they have screenshots. The only reason it was still considered a rumor was because 2k never said it thesmelves. Now they have, and Ps3 owners seem really syked. 2k'll probably actually get a return for their investment. PS3 owners tend to support single player games alot.
And let's not try to turn this into a fanboy war like we do when every previous exclusive goes multiplat. It's good news for PS3 owners and hopefully both ps3 and 360 owners can play bioshock 2 when it comes out. I already have it on PC, but I'm buying it on Ps3 because 1. I want another ps3 game, 2. I need emus for PS3. I wanna play some snes games. And since sony refuses to put ps1 games people actually like on psn I'll have to emulate games like silent hill 1 and resident evil.
And the bioshock devs denied it coming to ps3 because there's a timed exclusivity deal with microsoft.
I swear to god looking back though I can't believe how ridiculously retarded we all were for believing that it wasn't coming. I mean come on there was PS3 CODING there. Then the 39849234823492389 news articles saying they were looking for PS3 devs, this was BEFORE the EA buyout. This game was becoming multi platform a long time ago, even without EA.
The standards for the PS3 are much higher. Imagine how the reaction would be if killzone 2 had been a 360 exclusive. The Ps3 has to do twice as good to get half as much when it comes to the 360. Lord knows how many flaws they'd magically find in great games like bioshock had they'd been exclusive to the ps3.
Most games like this arrive on 360 and not PS3. Just like how most kid games arrive on this, ps2, and wii. The 360 has a good attach rate so it's worth their effort. The only PS3 games that sell are good ones.

Now that I think of it, that kind of conflicts with the notion that the 360 is the "hardcore gamers" console. The sales of what games sell and which ones don't say otherwise.

The PS3 outsold the wii when the 40gb launched. At least in japan. It did it for a while and everyone went nanners

Actually, if history has taught us anything VGcharts OVERTRACKS 360 sales and UNDERTRACKS PS3 sales. So for all we know the 360 probably sold less than what we're being shown and the ps3 probably sold more.
That's pretty screwed up. I'm sure it would have sold well on the wii. I don't own a wii so this doesn't affect me though. I'm buying soul calibur over this though.
