MS has stated that this particular facet of the DRM isn't finalized yet. The way it stands now, you won't need any disc to play beyond the initial install, and the 24 hour connectivity check is to ensure that you're not letting all your friends install your copy of the game on their consoles and play a single player version of the game. "Stunning" is a bit strong, but the black jewel case is quite nice. However, that being said, if there is going to be a black case, then the PS4 title bar on the insert shouldn't be blue, it should be a color that complements the black case, like in the Helghast face cover art. Pachter is 100% right about the TV tuner being important to the capability of the Next Xbox. Like the blu-ray player for the PS3 and motion controls for the Wii, it is a differentiating factor for the console. Right now almost everyone rents their set top boxes from their cable company. This article is really weak in a number of areas. First of all, Pachter didn't contradict himself, and I think he MAY be right, this COULD be the last generation of home consoles. Just because the next gen will sell well, that doesn't mean that there will be another gen of home consoles, there will be a different type of games system that might be dominant. Amazon posts guesstimates of dates frequently, that's not a guarantee of ACTUAL release dates. Those dates change all the time. Halo 4 had a release date of 12/31/2012 forever until 343 Studios announced the real release date. You guys need to stop acting like amazon gets insider information, it's just a placeholder people.
Sackboy and Cloud would be AMAZING in this game. Seeing little Sackboy get the stuffing knocked out of him is a POSITIVE reason why I'd want him there, not to mention all the fun gadgets and costumes he could have! Who cares about changing discs? Back in the PS1 days games came on 3 or 4 CDs at times. So now it's on 2 DVDs, OH THE HORROR! Typically it happens one time in a game's playthrough, and even on open-world games where you may move back and forth between areas, you might have to change the disc 4 times max. Has that really ruined your experience? Sure, one disc is convenient, but seriously, who gives a crap?

I agree with basically every other comment, there's no way this is Doom 4. The style is just NOT "futuristic space marine" at all. It looks closer to Rage than Doom 4 but it's not that either.

You do realize that by eliminating Kinect, you'd basically have to rewrite the entire OS that was planned and designed around it being an integral part of functionality, right? And that by eliminating it, you would essentially be dooming the console to be delayed for months, if not a full year, to completely rewrite the code? That's what you want, amiright?
