What! Emotion and substance in an interactive experience and not explosions and blood? Don't let David Jaffe hear about this!
I supported evey Uncharted, from the good game that was "Drake's Fortune" to the interactive cinematic experience that is "Drake's Deception." Bring on the Last of Us, ND, and give Nathan Drake a rest till next-gen.
"Games can never be as emotionally powerful as movies."
They can be greater.
God I LOVE Jade Empire!!
Ah, there is that word again, "fun." So subjective...
You could probably fund the next gen design push...
I agree in a sense that it is a vehicle for "games" that are base and simplestic. Angry Birds is a booger flicking sim that has enthralled the masses. I need complexity in my games, complexity and buttons.
Believe it or not, you can have quantity and quality.
Looking forward to this. Trumps Heavy Rain by far.
It is sad to see a man have to leave a company he built in order to do the things he wants. Despite all the hype he built for himself, I still enjoyed the Fables, thanks Peter. It was fun.
I liked UC3 more than UC2, there I said it. Hell, I would venture to say that UC2 is the better "game" where UC3 is the better experience. The desert, oh how I love the desert.
Is this in engine?
I would say Uncharted 3 is more cinematic than 2. Among Thieves got the ball rolling but three really upped the ante.
Does look great though.
Colors still look muted.
As someone who owned and favored the Original Xbox, yes, the successor console has lost its way.
Am I the only one up for an Uncharted starring Cutter?
You shut your face!
I would have to go with UC3, it really furthers the medium. It takes everything that 2 did and turns it up to 10. Chapter 18(the desert) changed my perception about what can be done with this medium. It is my favorite moment from the entire Uncharted series and there isn't a single gun to be fired. Powerful stuff, I love UC3 and if UC4 is being made with the same team, then I am excited beyond belief.
No true, unlike in films you do not act as a witness but instead a participant. The potential for emotion is more powerful becuase their is a level of intimacy no other medium can offer. I might watch Liam Neeson suffer in SL but I am with Nathan Drake while he is wasting away in the desert. I am with a character, guiding him/her forward through pain and agony despite my affection for him/her, regardless of my feelings about a certain character, such a thing has to be done, making it even ha...
