I need buttons people!!!
I completely agree. Journey stands as the most emotional interactive experience I have ever gone through. Thank you, thatgamecompany, thank you soooo much.
And by the way, I LOVED Chapter 18 in Uncharted 3.
Guys like this are why the system is broken and why the medium will be held back by the mainstream.
Let us not forget Tom Chick, thatgamecompany set out to make an experience, view it as such. You do not need complexity and challenge to make something special.
Something special is lost if you aren't with another person.
We don't need to "move beyond," we need to offer both types of experiences to both types of audiences. This is a diverse crowd of consumers, why would you want to alienate some. Despite what people like Jaffe think, you can have both "game" and interactive cinematic experience. Is it so terrible for someone to find an experience that suits them? We can have a medium where Skyrim and Uncharted 3 exist.
Also, the article is discussing music, not presentati...
I'd say its more of an experience, not really objective in a traditional "game" approach. Their aren't any winners or losers, so I can't really call it a "game."
I would have been up for an FPS. It would not have replaced ME3, but instead supported it. The Mass Effect universe is big enough to include other genres.
I would love to see more cinematic approaches taken with dynamic camera angles and contextual sensitivity. Journey executed these things perfectly.
We will see. People seem to think cut-scenes make something cinematic, not the case. Want something really cinematic, look at UC3 chapter 18.
I never stopped believing.
Just did a second Journey, and was fully aware this time. I cried at the end. What of it?
I would like to see deeper experiences on consoles.
Went through it late last night. I was a little bit tired so I think I might have missed some stuff but am going through it again later today. Really emotional experience. Things like this don't come around too often.
The interactivity itself or the cutscene? Cutscenes are essentailly short films, but I can honestly say I have felt emotion during interactive segments.
Uncharted 3, Chapter 18 in the desert. Play it, you might learn something.
NO Jaffe! Get away!!!!
Not on there for me yet, I pre-orderd it too.
No, no. Apparently interactive experiences don't solicit emotion, only cookie commericals.
Dear BioWare,
I just wanted to let you know that I have been playing and loving BioWare games since KotOR. I have loved your work with Jade Empire, Mass Effects 1 and 2, and DA:O. Since 2003, KotOR held my top spot as favorite game(note, "game," not interactive experience.) If it were not for the last ten minutes of ME3, it would have dethroned KotOR as my favorite game due to all of the memorable moments that frankly, few mediums seem to offer. It was one hell of...
