why the DS3's analogues are convex. It's so that it would be less irritable when pressing up with R3/L3 AND clicking them down at the same time. DS1 analogues were concave at one time. So it obviously was tested and proved to cause strain (IMO). Sony removed it since it did not work for the DS controller.
The analogues on the DS3 do however have a far better accurate sense than PS1, PS2's and 360's since it has a smaller deadzone centre.
