I feel it's more a problem with announcing titles too soon.. many games don't get out of development, but they often aren't marketed so heavily either..
But if canning games that don't live up to expectations is a trend, I welcome it.. hate me all you want for it but it's the truth.. having tons of games doesn't mean much if half are crap (this isn't a dig at Sony etc.. speaking solely on Xbox games )
In words such as expel, export, and exclusive, the prefix ex- means "out of, outside". Thus, to exclude means basically to close the door in order to keep someone or something out. When the word appears in an advertisement, it's often making an appeal to snobs. An "exclusive" offer is supposedly made to only a few people; not so many years ago, "exclusive" housing developments excluded those of a certain race or color. If a product is being sold exclusively b...
what difference does that make in regards to porting it over? if it could be done for forza, it can be done for this game..
changing the game is another story.. adding MP etc... but was scalebound not always shown as a coop game?
didn't Forza get ported to win10 in a week with a handful of people?
Perhaps you do..
Inclusive = available to all
Exclusive = not available to all
There isn't a single bit of its definition that means only available to one single person/thing etc.. that's something you guys decided to start doing on your own
That was the idea with scale bound.. didn't turn out that great.. lol
Thrash.. if you want freedom, don't sell your company and complain that your bosses (that sign your paychecks) won't let you do as you please..
Try to work for anyone and tell them what they are paying you for, not the other way around.. msg me from the unemployment line.. lol
All kidding aside.. a company wanting to separate to do other projects is natural ala bungie etc.. but if you want creative freedom, you don't do it on someone else'...
As a boss should be.. this is big business and when millions of dollars are at stake, you better expect results..
Looking at this example... I wouldn't be very lenient towards him when I have millions sunk into a project and he claims he's stressed and needs more time/money... But I know the other projects he is trying to take on and that's why my project is suffering.
Yeah you probably won't see them together.. at least for awhile..
If you aren't happy with the work being done, you don't keep hiring (or funding) the same contractor.. that goes for anything
I'm not on the "it's good that they cancelled it" bandwagon.. but I understand that devs don't always hit the mark
I'm also of the opinion that I don't give 2 sh!TS about their "exclusive" lineup.. I care about the lineup in general and my interests generally land on multiplats
Is it bad? Maybe.. or maybe these studios are at the end of their life and just couldn't cut it.. I don't need a bunch of half asse...
what world do you live in where i dont need to meet expectations for earn my paycheck?
i keep forgetting that if i made video games, the money would constantly flow to me even if i dont perform...
guess what those 3rd party deals have that these games in question didnt? oh yeah, finished on time and on budget.. lol
it seems like thats what people expect... and it aint going to happen lol
why else would you cancel a game youve been investing in for years? obviously it isnt meeting expectations and no sign that it will... but its unprofessional to say they couldnt cut it, even if thats the exact reason.
afaik, the IP belongs to MS.. i guess we will have to see if they choose another dev down the road or if they sell it off to someone else
Without trying to sound like a dick here..
What you want doesn't really matter.. you aren't the one paying to make the project happen..
Of course from where we sit, it's better to release it and if it sucks, it sucks.. but we aren't shelling out millions to make it..
They had already sunk quite a bit into it, you don't bail on that investment without just cause..
I'm just kind of confused.. you state the game looked like crap but then act like it's some huge revelation that it's cancelled.. it's not damage control when you don't care that shit looking games get cancelled.. it's expected
Edmix.. invest in who exactly? It's not like AAA studios are just waiting around for someone to buy them up.. guys seem to think you can just form a naughty dog caliber studio because you want to.. it doesn't work tha...
Looked like crap to me and I had zero intentions of playing it.. no loss for me but I'd assume more then a few people were looking forward to it.. so that kind of sucks..
But at the end of the day, if you feel a project can't make its money back, you scrap it and try to minimize losses.. not the first game to be cancelled and sure won't be the last..
The biggest loss will now be a certain group of people that use this as ammo for their imagina...
Hard core racing fans are on PC imo.. at least the couple I know personally lol
You realize Ms doesn't write these articles right?
WTF is wrong with people and reading comprehension?
He's unsure if we will see Scorpio BEFORE e3..
Read people..
