This is a great thing because I have been inclined to chose the 360 version based on the achievements thing.
I'm sorry guys, but Halo is hardly above mediocre in terms of shooters. HALF LIFE was innovative. Halo may have been innovative in terms of consoles, but everything the original Halo brought had been around in better quality for YEARS on PC's.
Halo's gameplay has no depth, it's multiplayer system is ridiculous if you are trying to play without friends on live, and even if you are playing with friends it's barely passable, they copy and paste the level design over and over, and...

I find it funny that two different people just cited the 360 for reliability... when it is easily the least reliable system ever made. Highest defect percentage combined with the whole "LIVE randomly kicking people every once in awhile" just goes to show that MSoft can't make anything reliable.
If you look at the list of AAA titles for each console this last year, then look at the list of AAA titles for the PC, you will see that most of the AAA titles are available for PC, along with a ton of amazing exclusive titles.
RTS games, and MMO's are just the beginning. PC's are still the superior machine for shooters as well, and given the fact that ALL of microsofts AAA titles eventually find their way there... there's no shortage of exceptional quality games for the PC.

i dont swear allegiance to any system, but halo is a sub-par shooter to say the least. i hate that this hype filled ball of crappy multiplayer options, copy and paste level design, and obscenely boring story has sold so much.

There is no end to the rush in the new burnout, seamless, gorgeous, and feels like it will be revolutionary. I can't wait to dump hour after hour of my life into it.

there was no competition for them to lose business too, so there was no fallout. then the competition came out and suddenly their warranty increased by multiple years so they wouldn't lose business.
omg! if they release a 360 with a built in hd-dvd drive and wifi it will finally be almost as technologically badass as the PS3... as long as they add a web browser and various other features.
oh wait... they would still have to use regular dvds for games... sad. maybe they'll do what dvd did for awhile where the games come out with a 4 dvd version and a 1 hd dvd version.
hype and marketing are like potatoe potahtoh. it's gotten to a point where "stellar marketing" makes me worry about the quality of the game, because a "smart business tactic" is to put out insanely flashing and attractive videos and ads of your game before it comes out to get people psyched to buy it, then when it comes out and sucks ass people will still buy it because it's a name they remember when they walk into the store.

casual players are ruining gaming because they send a clear message to developers. that message is "i will buy crappy mediocre games as long as they are insanely simple and i don't have to put effort into them because i only want something to kill time, not a quality experience"
I agree. Halo is a 6.0 shooter with a 3.0 story line that was embraced by a generation of console gamers who had never actually touched a good FPS. The reason we continue to focus our hate on it is because it continually boggles my mind why so many people pledge allegiance to that game when there are so many other quality shooters out there.
I am not jealous of that game. That game is a shining example of how mediocrity is awarded in todays society.
halo has proven itself with blatantly biased reviews and sales to hundreds of thousands of gamers that wouldn't know a quality fps if it shot them in the face.
