Sony does not have the money to buy up new IPs. The company as a whole not the playstation brand. It would take too much money to buy up the IPs they distribute them to developers. Sony can not handle that much strain right now. Kaz is trying to right the sinking ship not plung it deeper into dept on a gamble.

Maverick is right. People registered for battlelog do not mean a thing on consoles. I would say 75% of the players on the consoles are not registered. I like to look at some of my stats after a match on battle log. There are not many battlelog users on the xbox when I look at my games. At least acourding to vgcharts xbox has 6.57 and PS3 has 6.14. We all know how crappy Vgcharts is but no other side keeps track of games sales that I know of.

The real code name is Durango, but saddly the internet has coined the term 720 and it stuck. Thats why everyone calls it that. Microsoft has even came out to the media saying they have not picked a name yet and they have never called it 720.
If they go with the Cell again they could have backwards compatibility. The bottle necking could also be fixed with a modified architecture. The big problem would be building the games just like with the PS3. The architecture is different from everything else. It makes for very poor ports, or alot of work converting the games to work well.
I hope they go with the AMD and leave the cell behind. Maybe stream with Gakai.

The problem is you will be one of the very few that do. Look at the launch of the PS3 and tell me you want that again? I nice GPU is important, 4-8GB of ram is great, a custom built quad or greater CPU is a must, but it will not sell to anyone but the most hardcore if its over $500 at launch.
First off it will not be a (M)obile GPU. Size is not the major issue in a console like it is in a cell phone or laptop. Heat and power are. Secondly these are just comming out in a couple of months. They need something more cost efective like a mid to high range GPU. Yes there will always be a discount when the chips are sold in the millions, but not something crazy like half off.
