The only problems I see with 8 gigs of GDDR5 is that it will take 140watts alone to run. (The xbox 360 at lauch only had a 203watt power supply.)
The power draw also means it will need masive cooling and air flow.
The last thing is the price. The ram alone will end up costing over $100 per console for Sony. People on Neogaf are estimating the system parts alone (no case, boxing, shipping, or assembly) will cost over $500. Thats going to be a lot of loss w...

As much as I hate it I have to agree with EA. If people are stupid enough to pay for guns you can get with a little work, see Mass Effect 3 Multi, BF3, and DS3 I say good for EA. Its when they charge for Items you can only get by paying that I have a problem.
If there is no online required DMR on PC games now a days it will be pirated more than payed for. Just check any torrent site a week after a game comes out with no or little DRM.

Ive played the game all the way through 2 times now(once on mormal then whatever the hardest mode is).
I was playing on the xbox 360 (installed to HD). The game was awsome in every way for me minus one thing. I found no true chalenge in it. Yea I died fucking around or making a huge mistake, but even on ultra hard that was very rare. I enjoyed being a badass in a suit though! Not every game needs to be insanely hard.

Sony was the scared ones. They changed from 4 to 8 gigs because of the rumor MS already had 8 gigs in their system.
There is very little difference between DDR3 and GDDR5. The latency is better on DDR3. The data rates are 2133Mt on DDR3(using 1066mhz) and 3033Mt on GDDR5(max).
