There are no stock shortages. I work in a major city. I do channel checks weekly. I've run into both products many, many times.
The reason you don't see a lot of PSVR is that Sony has tempered their expectations for the product based upon the lukewarm reception their advance demos.
As long as they keep pumping out great games, and combining hardware SKUs, they'll stay ahead for the rest of the gen. However, I still believe Xbox will overtake them in the NA market, elsewhere in the world Sony will remain ahead for the rest of the gen.
Kinect was a horrible product. It's gone for good.
It's good enough to be a killer app for the PSVR, but sadly it's not going to move any hardware. Gamers in NA have effectively turned their backs on the product.
The game actually feels like a survival horror game again. It's wonderful.

No. Only people who own one console care about sales, and let's face it, we all know why. PS4 will remain ahead for the rest of the generation. Sony fans should be happy about that, but instead, most of them will remained hooked to their sales threads, posting online and reading NeoGAF instead of just enjoying their incredible console and its amazing selection of games. In that way, sales culture is utterly pathetic and it ruins the fun of gaming for everyone. I honestly wish there was on...

The company never had confidence in this product, and that's a damn shame. They used a third party company to demo the product in stores like Fry's and Best Buy. The demos failed to draw significant crowds. They were also met with mixed reactions. The demo units even had a problem with overheating and crashing, which happened quite frequently.
