Both my release DS4 are still with me and works great. I don’t know how you play games or what you do with your controllers, but the DS4 has not a reputation of being bad.
I’ve had all consoles since early 80s and the only controllers I actually thought was bad, and had to be swapped out was NES (a+b buttons), N64 (the analog stick) and now Switch where I in the end gave up on the joycons and only use Pro.

Watch Dogs Legions seems to be an interesting change to that serie. AC: Valhall serms to be as amazing as both Origins and Odyssey, if not even better.
And then we have Immortals Fenyx Rising which I already love without touching it.

As you include PC/xCloud, I guess you include PSNow in PS4 numbers? Oh no, you didn’t.
Even if Now isn’t up to 10s of millions it still is some millions to add.
Here in Sweden you can still order Series X and get it on release, but maybe you mean in US?
God of War is one of those games you and everyone else in the world should play through at least once a year.
I have a few of those games now, and some has to be skipped to every second year.
Final Fantasy VII, Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid, Suikoden 1, Final Fantasy X, Last of Us, God of War are a few of those games that comes to mind.
Now I guess I have to add Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima to that roster.
It clearly tells you if the game gets a free update to PS5 thou.

You never had to link a console to put your PS Plus games in Library.
I am almost certain that all who have a PSN with PS+ can put Bugsnax in Library from webstore.
That’s what many of my friends did with PS4 library before they actually got the Ps4 or Vita.
