My launch 360 conked after 11 months and again 2 more times before I sold it (I did by the protection plan from Microsoft so I never had to pay for repairs). Motorstorm 80gb PS3 lasted me 2 years and the laser went out (cost $100 to get repaired). Launch Wii still going strong (I did buy and external fan for it since it sits in a cabinet). I still have an NES, SNES, Sega CD/Genesis combo, Virtual Boy, Gameboy, Gamecube, Dreamcast, Saturn, N64, and even an Intellivision that all work just fine...
All the sudden it looks like Nintendo could be the choice for core gamers... what a long strange trip it has been.
Yup,
I am gonna buy a fur coat and then not wear it to protest cruelty to animals... Buy a "Toddlers and Tiaras" DVD and not watch it to protest unfit mothers... and buy a bunch of meat with "pink slime" to protest the use of modified food!
Nintendo police alert-
Hey! Mario doesn't "spit" fire!
Errm... Bad headline as my ISP is named "US Internet"... I got pretty scared for a minute there
Of course we have the arcade classics as well- Galaga, Pac Man, Centipede...
Same at Walmart too plus it get free shipped to your door release day!... prompted me to actually preorder a game from Walmart and take Tuesday off.
and Metroid Prime trilogy should have been #1
Yup, the first thing that would come to me if someone said "videogame trilogy" would be Metroid Prime... Obvious choice for the best because it is a real trilogy fer cryin out loud (and the games rule)..
Me too! If Killer Instinct wasn't on here I was going to c-c-c-c-c-combo! my laptop. Also, much love for Fighting Vipers.
Dang the 90's had some good fightin' games.
Anyone else have the Saturn Darlkstalkers import with the expansion cart?
Atari sparked interest in video games to the USA. Other companies (Most notably Nintendo, Namco, and Williams) blew the doors off the industry in the arcades which led to sales of home consoles. The initial "selling point" of video game consoles and software for home use was simply to replicate the arcade experience. When the 16 bit era (the best in my opinion) made the home experience equal to or better than the arcade experience, everything changed. Overall, I give it to Nintendo,...
The wii version (which he says was deigned from the ground up for wii mote/nunchuck) came packaged with a golden classic controller pro.... Get the facts straight before you go and hate!
I vote for Kirby Wii!
Since you have a PS3, you could get the PS1 Final Fantasy Chronicles and Anthology for around ten bucks each. Then you have both those games plus 2 more!
I am playing through Gaia again right now; just got past the diamond mines... gonna replay FF3 (6) next and the Chrono trigger and Cross. FF3 was the first RPG I ever played (outside of Zelda 1) and I sure miss the 1990's RPG's. To me Norrath, Elder Scrolls and the like just don't hold my interest as much as the older games did. I know there are tons of people who love the newer ones (KOTOR, Mass Effect, etc.) but they are just not my thing.
Chrono Trigger the other soundtrack I have purchased in my life...
This reminds me that Chrono Cross gets overlooked too often in Trigger's shadow (including the soundtrack).
Agreed, I have purchased only 2 game soundtrack CD's in my life... Symphony of the Night is one of them.
I would put Super Metroid on this list.
Seriously they should put Mola Ram from Temple of Doom as DLC
How about a monter's cereals DLC with Booberry,Fruit Brute, Frankenberry, and Count Chocula?
How about the fact that we still hear nothing and a Mass Effect edit comes out???? I say in the spirt of the FCC complaint regarding Mass Effect's ending we all file a compliant against Telltale to the FCC for roping us into a season pass with the false promise of one episode per. month :)
