There is no point in pursuing the Japanese/Chinese market for Xbox One. Its a goner there. It would all be wasted money. MS would be better to focus on titles that will help them pull a PS3-type recovery in Europe and steal the lead in the US. Shooters with some Rare IPs and maybe some MOBAs, as much as I hate to say it, would be wise investments.

Except a new controller with a smaller, more modern screen would lower costs. They're used aged tech which doesn't lower in price as fast since they are one of the few asking for it, no "economies of scale" discount.

Also, console makers have cut price despite bundles coming out before. It wouldn't be a huge deal to see a stand alone Wii U for $249, Splatoon bundle for $299. Also, isn't the Splatoon bundle Best Buy only? The Splatoon bundle could just go down to $249 too.
They did just start production on Wii U systems in March after not making any in FY2015, hence why last year Iwata said they weren't selling them at a loss (since the spent the money manufacturing those FY2015 units during FY2014)

They are a month apart. Back in 2005/2006 I'd say no way BF could stand up to Halo but with MCC souring some on franchise, the changes to H4 through H5 and BF having Force Awakens hype with it and DICE, I think BF could do better than Halo 5 this holiday or fall just short but ultimately have longer legs. I could see BF doing 10-15M long run after 2-4 years but Halo 5? I'd say 6-8M tops and that's if XB1 stars selling MUCH better at some point.

To be fair, Wii U broke that trend by releasing six years after Wii and N64 was originally going to come out in lsyr 95, Cube was going to come out holiday 2000.
