So blood, decapitatoin, severed limbs are cool but you draw the line at puke?
Wrong - Yes
Worthy of your little temper-tantrum - No
@jimbone79
Calm down. There were quite a few of us that assumed the slide was claiming 41.6 represented 80%. In fact, it probably isn't far off since 80% of 47.9 = 38 and that was around Xmas time.
I assumed it was 80% of the PSN users as well but it looks like we were both wrong. Either way, you had to be rather naive to think Sony would have lied about their 47.9 million figure.

1. The header of the slide says "PSN Market - How Big is it?". Not only should this have been the first thing you would see, but it should have also put the rest of the information into perspective.
2. What is more likely to be correct?:
The official numbers submitted by Sony themselves or a still shot of some slide where only partial information has been focused on.
I just realized that I got duped into commenting on ...
How many articles are we going to have about this?
As a friend pointed out to me, 41.6 million is the number of PS3 that are connected via PSN. 41.6 represents 80% of the total number of PS3s sold to date.
I found the gameplay mechanics to be clunky, the visuals to be awful and the inventory/map screens to be very disorganized yet still love this game! I'm 40 hours in and still can't wait to get home and fire this game up.
Sony is claiming there are over 41 million consoles connected to the PSN...NOT overall sales. In other words, 80% of all PS3s sold are connected.
It is safe to say that Sony have SOLD over 51 million
Edit:
@ Below
They already have. The announced something like 48 million sold over the Xmas holiday season. Probably just easier for you to ignore the header in the screenshot though, huh?
There should definitely be more transparency with regard to the bubble system. It doesn't help when people can get banned/lose bubbles for using language that is often found in the articles posted here as well as some of the titles.
The game isn't without flaws. The inventory system, some of the character models/visual settings like motion blur, all could've been polished a bit but doesn't seem to hinder the 'fun factor'.
What didn't you like about the game? I mean, you must have played it in order for you to call it a "shitty game", right?....RIGHT?
Personally, I am about 30 hours into this game with the end no where in sight and find myself still excited to fire this game up....and I haven't even touched the multiplayer yet.
Actually, Kuwait now represents the world's fattest industrialized nation...just sayin'
To Blaze in the report section:
If NPD numbers qualify as news, so should Amazon numbers
@kancer
Let me get this straight....You not only have never looked at this game but it would appear that you don't even own the system which it can be played on, yet you are downplaying other's for having an actual EDUCATED opinion?
What I love is that you are basically saying that reviewers don't need to factually back up a score but you require something more substantial than an opinion to question said review?
You have never p...
Chris
LMAO. This "kid" has been on a mission challenging anyone with an opinion to tell them they have no right!
/FACEPALM
True...I'm hopeful that Kojima has inside knowledge and that it isn't limited to his vision.
I'm sold if the developers are able to support carrying on with your game from the PS3 to the NGP and vice versa....similar to what you are able to do with steam.
@kancerkid
What are you, defender of all toilet bowl worthy reviews? Sure people are allowed to have an opinion, but it doesn't mean it can't be wrong. If you were to tell me the sky was brown, that would be your opinion....it would be wrong, but it would still be your opinion.
I was going to point out the obvious and make a reference to Chris's review which has been on the front page of N4G for the past couple of days now, but I suppose only you...
Speaking of misinformed, the correct term should be "any" when referring to 3 or more options....not "either". Then again, this is a typical mistake of those who would disagree with doG's example.
I loved the demo! Disturbingly fun!
