The French Revolution would easily be the best choice.
Ubisoft has already said they plan to turn AC into a annual franchise with a release every year. This will probably continue until we see a major drop in sales.
I buy AC games only to play in epic historical locations. All the Sci-Fi, and Modern crap is a major turnoff to me.
I could care less about all the SCi-Fi, and Modern crap. The only reason I play AC is to be able to play in epic historical locations.
Sony MUST have PSN fixed before E3. That can NOT go into E3 with PSN still being down or it will be absolutely distasterous for them.
"but then, how much is japan? 10 million?"
Other countries have console sales other then just Japan, North America, and Europe.
Maybe you need to learn how to read. Those are sales predictions for North America, and Europe only. It does not include Japan a market where the PS3 kills 360. Thats why Activision's outlook has the 360 has the highest selling console this year.
"So you're saying that if they released an AC game every TWO years for the next twenty years that would be fine?"
Because 2 years gives them time to make improvements, and keep the game fresh.
After reading this detailed preview I went from being meh/dissapointed about the game to moderately excited about the game.
The positives.
#1. Replacing the traditional side missions with a random event system. As far as I am concerned randomness is alway is a very good thing. Using random events instead of traditional side missions technically gives the game unlimited replay value.
#2. Expanding the Borgia Tower concept. Especially good is...
2012- Wii 2
2013- Xbox 720
2014- PS4
Handhelds dont count.
Very dissapointed in what I hear so far. Going to the boring Middle East Again. Playing with Ezio for third time; playing Altair a second time, and I hate Desmond so any play time with him is bad.
I was so hoping for AC3 with a fresh setting(preferably French revolution), and fresh character. This just looks like too much of a rehash.
Ubisoft is really going to have to show me in that 12 page preview if they want me to even consider buying this game. Rogh...
Very dissapointed going back to the Middle East again, and playing with Ezio for a third time. Was hoping for AC3 with a totally fresh setting, and fresh character.
Very dissapointed with Revelations at this point. Ubisoft is really going to have to show me something if they want me even consider buying the game.
No nothing would be worse then that. i wish they would just get rid of Desmond, the Sci-Fi crap, and the Modern crap.
Yeap wanted a fresh new setting, and was hoping for the French Revolution.
Very dissapointed in going back this setting, and time period. Might be the first AC game I don't play. Not ruling it out yet, but at this point I am not happy.
Campaigns NO, but Open World or Free Roaming games YES. If we are talking about linear campaigns then no I cann't stand those anymore.
I am still mainly a Single Player Gamer but those games have to either be Open Word, Free Roaming or have a lot of randomness.
Not Middle East again Ugh. Think I have lost all interest in Revelations.
NO Way.
#1. Most have their Wii's in their closet collecting dust. Its going to be a very tough sell to get them to buy another Nintendo consoles again.
#2. Sony, and MS won't be caught with their pants down again(Nintendo launching with a motion controller while they launched with standard controllers)
Why in the world would they take it to Feudal Japan. We already have enough games about Japan, and Ninjas/Samurais, and it would be pretty boring if they tried to do a AC game their.
Easily the best chocie is the French Revolution, and that is where I fully expect AC3 to be set.
