The kiddies are depressing. The zealots too. I'm 35 and even I sometimes get caught up in the frenzy of the rabid f-boys. Take solace in the knowledge that you will always have the option to play, and always have access to the best games out there - from all the platforms. Let the f-boys experience life with blinders on pledging allegience to the one console they can afford or the one that they've been brainwashed to regard as a diety. It's their loss.
By your own criteria, the word "wii" should replace every instance of the word "360" in yur post. Your bias is showing - which would not be a bad thing if it was based upon reality.

My 360 is aiight. When a must have MS exclusive drops, I'll probably get it. Otherwise, I'm placing my bets on my Trey to continue to rise like Hulk Hogan.
Of course a good game transends all hardware. Tetris still kicks arse for example.
However, you can not ignore the logic of the better machine generally pulling out the better games.

The last thing I played on my 360 was Mass Effect (awesome game). I also snatched up a copy of Psychonauts (Amazing). But my main console is my ps3. Maybe if my 360 didn't give me so many "disc read errors" it would get more play. These ps3 exclusives are killers imo.
That the only competition this gen for a Sony exclusive is another Sony exclusive.

This generation however, it is obvious which machine is superior. The 360 is a close second though. Nothing to be ashamed of there. It's a pretty nifty machine when it isn't giving me read errors, or scratching my discs.
