Sony does cave in with enough pressure. They have been like that for ever. We have a guys buy a console and 2 years after he bought it, it died. They opened a small claims court case and sent the notice to sony, 1 week later sony was sending them a new console.

I agree, 5 years ago we saw things we will start seeing in the next 5 years. Still happy though, if anything those target videos pushed those devs to give us the great games we have had on the PS3.

I love how this is considered a new genre when its just a progression of the graphic adventure, and Farenheit, heck even Omikron where also great steps in moving one of the oldest genres forward. A funny thing is that Heavy Rain is really considered an interactive Drama, you know, like Super Don Quix-ote, Dragon Lair and space ace. Also think the X-files games, Lupin, Braindead 13, Voyeur ect.

Heavy Rain, although a great game, is not a new Genre. DO a little research people, the graphic adventure genre is 30 freaking years old.

Hey Too Pawn, Heavy Rain is a great Graphic Adventure, but no matter how you spin it, you will just dig yourself a deeper whole. Heavy Rain is not a New Genre, the graphic adventure is as old as gaming it self.
first off, yes, Wolfentstein did spawn the 3D shooter genre and made it popular, I can't believe I had to correct that, or even answer the question. Wolfenstein is not Maze War, or Battlezone, or Spasm for that matter.
and no, Heavy Rain, nor Fareneheit did not spawn the graphic Adventure Genre. Heavy rain is not offering any new really, besides the evolution of the graphic adventure, and that goes all the way back to 1980 and Mystery House.

This happens on any popular console. All the popular consoles of each gen where victim of some sort of shovel ware you got to keeo you eyes on the good games and ignore the bad games, I am looking at you Go Play Lumberjacks!
In a way the fact that the Wii is the monster it is makes for good for the PS3 and 360. Shovelware is almost non existent on them.
