Every OS, at least in this day and age, is a resource hog when they come out. As technology and hardware advance, and more computers come with stronger internals. Software is going to keep increasing in requirements. Even now, arguably Vista can be considered a resource hog. If you feel this way, or your system is truly lagged down, go back to Xp. Using patches to make improvements is one thing. Using patches to fix game breaking issues and glitches that should have been right from the factory, stupid, laziness and downright a waste of money. Some things however can't be resolved through patching. FPS issues especially. Most of which is from the console/system not having the hardware to run the game smoothly. For this, game devs need to make games that work, actually trying to tune the game for w/e console they are running on.

I don't think it is too late to jump into WoW. If you can find a good group of people to roll with. Or even have a few friends that either do, or want to play. Leveling can be done very easily. With the experience cut, and re-tuning of Npcs it shouldn't take long to get up high enough to enjoy the game. Disagree. Blizz made it so much easier, both time wise, and difficulty wise to level from 20-60, then 60-70. What would the addition of new content for new players do? They still have to start from 1, and work their way to 58/60. Then go to Outlands, and work to 68/70.. then Northrend. The lack of new, lower level content changes nothing. You still have to level. I'll give you the agree. I'm not sure what the sales are, but are there even 11 million players of Gears, and Resistance combined? Plus with WoW being in more countries than the Ps3, and 360 are available in(I think). It's quite possible that Wrath out sells them all in Nov. Guess we just sit back and see what happens... =D
