Makes perfect sense. People aren't talking about the game. For all its hate COD releases and people talk about it until the next one comes out. For a game that was suppose to change the face of the FPS genre, people don't seem to care. It was dubbed innovative, original, and the game changer the FPS genre needs. Sadly no one seems to talk about it anymore.

I think people often refer to the hype it no longer has. It's not really talked about anymore and its "innovation" and "originality" seems to be non-existent. I agree that if people claim the servers are dead and no one plays it is complete;y wrong.
If true this may be the only time I ever trade in a game.

Don't care about the tech. I care about the game and what it brings. NMS looks incredibly interesting. If It's old tech so be it.

Also framerates give a different feel so options to change it is welcomed.

Back in the old days almost every game had a strategy book you can buy. It's much more rare now. So I don't see your point.
For me if I was going digital I would much rather go directly through Sony, MS, and Nintendo.
This is now my favorite PSN game (about to play Transistor next). The story, gameplay, art direction, music, and controls are masterfully done.
Not to mention it never made sense for Big Boss to sound exactly like Solid Snake anyway.

Too much information. Remember seeing The Hobbit in 48 FPS (as a filmmaker I felt obligated to). Man it looked like fantasy news footage. However, when things wasn't moving (landscapes) it looked amazing.
Sometimes too smooth just doesn't help. I feel FPS should be a creative choice. For instance, I think shooters work better in 60 FPS.
