If we're talking about GamePass ultimate, then the fair comparison would be the top tier of PS Plus, which is now more expensive than Ultimate.

WiFi connection. Not it's own standalone data, so it actually has been revealed to have less features than expected/hoped.

That would imply the device uses a SIM.
Tethering from a hotspot is entirely different and you'd be very lucky to have it work as intended off of a hotspot connection. So no, it still has the same features (or lack thereof) as expected when first revealed.

Sony needs to be very careful not to be getting cocky again just becsuse they've hit a home run thus far with PS5 (despite lack of first party updates recently).
They're becoming progressively more and more anti-consumer. Paywalling wireless audio with PS Portal, the Dualsense Edge price point, stick drift issues, first party games price increase, all of the live service games they're investing in, ...
