Anyone who thinks review scores have anything to do with the quality of the game are clueless about how online game "journalism" operates.
Most of these "journalists" from the largest sites don't even actually play the games they claim to have reviewed. The larger the site the more payoffs it accepts which are carefully masked as "online advertising" revenue.
The latest financial reports show that Microsoft has spent over $2...
but Forza 3 certainly is not a "scientific sim" by any stretch of the imagination. Even the developers of Shift 2 laughed off Forza 3 while speaking with reverence in regards to GT5.
From what I understand, rather than try to go the scientific route a la GT5 with it's pristine physics simulation, Shift 2 devs are focusing more on capturing the atmosphere and excitement of the race day as well as the physical sensation of driving a race car with all the shaking ...
COD, Halo, Gears, etc.
Who'd have thought?
that with the Cell, there's no such thing as 100%.
The quality of the algorithm makes a huge difference. IBM demonstrated that even with 100% utilization, simply improving the algorithm can result in 10x improvement for many tasks.
What's more, because, unlike a GPU, the Cell is as fully programmable as any CPU, it can use rendering techniques that are simply not possible on any existing GPU.
But God of War 3 is still a contender.
Look at this off-screen image taken with a digital camera.
The picture has been stretched/zoomed more than 3x yet the detail level holds up.

Look at the costumes. Nearly all the detail is just a flat 2D painted texture.
Forget highly optimized exclusives like Killzone 3.
Rage isn't even close to matching your run-of-the-mill multiplatform game such as Lost Planet 2, Dead Space 2 or Mass Effect 2.
They just blow Rage out of the water.
PC games are a tiny fraction of total game sales despite all that $4.99-$9.99 shovelware clogging up aisles at Walmart and Target.
but poor artistic direction meant that the final product was less than the sum of it's parts.
This is a mind-blowing for a couple of reasons. First, because it just looks ridiculously good with all that wind, lighting, shadows, ridiculously good animations, particle effects, flames, etc and, second, because they've completely transformed the look and feel of the game to such a degree that it's as if it's by a completely different studio. That latter, belie...
What's impressing people about this?
The exceptionally huge number of polygon edges indicating that this engine has a pathetically low polygon budget?
Is it the flatness resulting lack of dynamic lighting and complex shading and specularity which is pretty much standard nowadays?
Perhaps they're blown away by the fact that objects that would be properly shaded in other games to look 3D are, in Rage, simply flat colored textures ...
Hasn't done anything impressive in over 10 years.
Talk about milking it!
is to take power from consumers and give it to big business.
Sadly, in the US, even the so-called liberal/left-wing, is starting to do the same thing.
The recent FCC rules approved by supposed liberal/left-wing President Obama basically gives these telecom giants even more power over consumers. What's more, a lot of the stimulus spending on infrastructure development has gone to these same companies.
Of course, that's just a dr...
Her show is basically a very well disguised advert for whatever product/idas.
She's absolutely one of the greatest business minds in America.
She's a poor black girl raised by a single mother on welfare, yet, despite all the odds, she turned herself into a millionaire by age 32 when taking her talk show nationwide back in the 80s. Now her yearly income is about a quarter of a billion. No exaggeration.
Looks like the arrogance stemming from the god-complex that's part and parcel of the hacking culture has been exposed.
When things don't go their way they throw a tantrum.
Pathetic.
Shift developers, comparing GT5 and Shift 2 said this:
GT5
"They are a scientific model simulation experience ..."
Shift 2
" ... we are an authentic racing experience. Race day attitude, race day atmosphere, race day excitement."
It sounds like the cat might have a broken rib or two as you could hear he had trouble breathing after he landed. I hope the cat's ok and that the losers who made this video public get the cat proper treatment regardless of the cost.
Only the most pathetic losers take joy in animal cruelty. Ask any psychiatrist, it's a sign of serious mental problems.
They're everywhere these days.
They're mostly racist white people with a smatter of blacks who are filled with self-loathing.
Only in America.
Review Killzone 3 in the new issue of CD Action suggests that the developer did not disappoint - the game got a score of 9 / 10. Score relatively safe, given that the author states in leadzie that "the third outing trumps almost everything in recent years has emerged in the shooter genre with a view of first-person perspective. "
The fact that the game is "a class prettier than all console FPS" it is difficult to disagree. The multiplayer mode is "a...
First, Microsoft practically bribed Netflix to use Silverlight in order to force desktop users to use Windows instead of Linux.
Now, this is yet another deal made between Netflix and Microsoft to force users to use their PCs.
It's all about forcing people to use Windows Desktops/Laptops (where Microsoft really makes their money) as much as possible
Wonder if they're using MLAA.
In God of War 3, MLAA provided quality that reached a peak that was equal or better than 16xSSAA.

Seriously, folks, we know that all the COD, Halo, and Gears sequels received 10s because they were mind-blowingly innovative, had unbelievably compelling and non-derivative storylines, provided unmatched voice acting, unbelievable real-time effects (nothing baked or scripted whatsoever), and gameplay that never ever repeated itself.
