N4G, news for gamers, NOT news for hackers and pirates.
Ban them!!! No warning, no 2nd chances, just ban them.
Yes, I agree the intention is to hack the PS3 so they can run their own programs accessing the power of the CELL and RSX (which is kinda cool), but the by-product of all this is that priacy becomes possible.... it says so in the presentation. That's what people are worried about more than anything I think.
The recent progress made is only due to leaked Sony tech'. If that tech hadn't been leaked the PS3 would still be completely 100% secure.
Sony will hopefully watch this video and design the PS4 with better protection i.e. an properly effective hypervisor, more secure security SPU, more secure loaders, etc..... Oh, and slap the wrists of the programmer who wrote getRandomNumber().

Why use Kinect? Just plug 2 PS eye cameras into the PS3 :)
Edit: I know Kinect has some extra sensors, but in theory a PS3 with 2 cameras could do similar things.
ROFL
Firmware updates are now incremental, so hopefully this is a small (quick) download.
I fully support any move to tighten security if it stops these scumbag cheap-ass pirates!
Edit: Just noticed a comment from enkeixpress, seems like its not a small download, interesting :)
Bah! It's a flash in the pan, like PS Move... give it a year and no-one will care.
It's been said before, so I'll repeat it now.... N4G is news for gamers, not news for hackers!
I don't know why devs don't do something like Tekken1 on the PS1. That would let you play Galaga whilst loading.
MGS4 had Snake smoking during installs, but something interactive and fun would make installs a much nicer experience :)
Lol! Via microsoft translator? Does it detect the word GT5 and when found add loads of stuff to make it sound bad? ;)
Only joking MS fans, you know you'd be thinking the same if it was the other way around. Peace.
There'll be lag in the 1st few days. If this sells as well as Sony hopes then in the 1st few days there'll be litteraly 1,000,000's of people trying to play.
It'll settle down after a week or 2 :)
Don't see how it can score lower than 9 out of 10.... I mean have you seen the 1000's of video on youtube? It look amazing!
Will only get less than 9 if PD have changed the gameplay totally from previous GT games and broken it, but can't see that happening somehow.
Didn't Tekken 1 let you play Galaga whilst loading? Hope they include that in this release just for the nostalgia value :)
Is that the right video??? Shouldn't it be this one....

Edit: Ah, data logger PANEL. Thought that was just the standard HUD, lol :) Looks MEGA!!! :D
They're load testing the game/network/servers then, good!
My biggest issue with KZ2 and KZ3 is how badly lag effects the game. Other online shooter seem to be able to hide it, or handle it better (just).
With KZ3 the game falls apart and goes glitchy as hell.
When KZ3 beta is playing right (no lag) is it REALLY good! The controls have been fixed (not that they really needed fixing) and the game plays better than KZ2 and looks great t...
Lol at your disagree. COD is a force to be reckoned with, I agree, we'll see what happens. Peace :)
According to the always accurate and unbiased VGChartz (wink wink) GT3 was the 2nd best selling PS2 game at 15 million. Most sales was GTA San Andreas at nearly 18 million :)
GT5 could be no. 1 for PS3 if the reviews are all 90+% and Sony put enough effort into advertising and GT5 console bundles.
Couldn't agree more!
Sony... This is getting worse by the day, please DO SOMETHING about it!
