Not really, lots of those games where rubbish. But they'll do whatever they want to do.

Xbox One emulation STILL doesn't work. Some of those games are near impossible to play. Alan Wake and Dark Souls are a hot mess. Better to play them on a 360.

A game should be fun, that is the very definition of gaming. Not only addicting but fun.
Personally I dont like playing pure simulators.
I dont like racers, or aviator simulators.
I like fun, fast paced games.
Now I know the very nature of No Man's Sky will not allow for arcadey type gaming, but even the driest strategy game is still fun. Look at Master or Orion and Homeworld.

I would add that "Lets Play" videos sometime loose focus.
In my mind LPV are supposed to be either tutorials (first level or tutorial stages) and/or a demonstration of how the game works.
What I do not appreciate is when YouTubers post entire games from beginning to end. I dont want to see someone else play a game from soup to nuts. I just need a little showing or in some cases an in-depth understating of the games mechanics ...

Yes it is too early. Not because of monetary reasons (although for some it is) but rather because all of these devices do not have longevity in the field.
The technology has not been proven and in essence we are being asked to pay top dollar to beta test. Its in its infancy.
Let it release now, let the early adopters buy in and let them test it.
By 2020 or 2025 you'll have something worth talking about.
I would love a great Urban setting Far Cry. Battlefield Hardline tried this but it failed. Ubi would show them how its done.

IF all it is, is an upgraded Bluray player then its optional. I for one dont need a 4k anything. Im good with my bluray player.
But if this is a necessity to play games. Then Sony failed its customer base for PS4's
