@ ichizon
i am glad someone gets it. most people are not looking past the now but i am glad there are some forward thinking gamers who think about where these actions could lead especially with the track record of the company pushing this service.
just read your blog very interesting read indeed, great blog i especially like the line "PS Now is nothing like EAA, being a streaming service and all. PS Now requires no download after you rent a game, and you have full control over what games you get at any given time"
some gamers are quick to relinquish their control over some marketing talk of "cheaper options for gamers" without fully understanding what they are giving up. the psnow of current i dont...

with the way the industry is go...
@ jo
no network is perfect but you should hear some of the comments some xbox fanboys make when psn goes down...shocking
@ pedro you do know that psn does have its down time as well, the most famous was the 1 month long offline due to hack
apparently rumor is that those features are not coming out till next year
Edit: sony gets some positive news about being profitable and looky here someone post a duplicate news that took me two secs to find
currently publishers offer their games digitally via psn and xbox live but we the consumer have not seen any benefit on price and like so i cant see how this is going to change when they all decide to jump on the early access band wagon.
what you seem to forget is if early access becomes the norm these publishers will hold even more of the game back for those who don't sign up to the service to make the service attractive.
and I quote "Games will continue to be added to The Vault, and we currently have no plans to remove any game from The Vault, but we might not be able to keep games in The Vault forever. That said, you’ll be updated if and when a game is scheduled to leave The Vault"

ill leave you to make up your mind about that
lol every time i read an argument against this service the first company that people talk about is Activision, because we know if activision gets on board this... GOD help us all.
OT: personally i don't agree with this service as it will no undoubtedly make a mess of how we get content from publishers, but i understand some gamers find value in this and hey kudos to them
i never understood the indie movement as i was used to playing only triple A titles. i can remember just before flow came out i was like who in the hell pays for such utter ish of a game, then i played it and i was blown away. i have a feeling most gamers just don't understand what indie games are all about and with the push both MS and Sony are doing with their current gen this might change
Stop it :)
Very good news for them indeed, hopefully with the price cut it would give others that extra push to own a ps4.
I have to respectively disagree, there is no need for publisher specific subscriptions and i will not support this movement. what most gamers dont seem to understand is if this takes off every publisher will start their own access programs making a mess of what should be a straight forward process of purchasing games from these publishers.
let me break it down to some of you supporters of this approach
ps+: $49.99
xbox live:$60
EA access: 30
...
damn i was this close to buying fez on ps4... awesome
Some fans believe so. personally its a subscription service i could do without as i don't see any value in this offering the the 10% discount is a con as digital should have been cheaper from the get go adding this as an " advantage" is just deceitful to me . if this takes off every publisher would do this and if not kept under control we could be charged premium once they get us hooked. digital is the future thers no escaping that but for this medium to make great strides some...
Activision is the one that scares me the most, you cant get access to this map pack because although you have paid $60 for the game $30 for season pass you have not subscribed to activision early access
not really, ps+ offers you discounts on multiple titles from different publishers big or small not just Sony first party titles. EA subscription only offers discounts on EA titles nothing more nothing less how is that better value to the gamer??
@ riverstars86: thanks for pointing that out, ok then you are right ballsack and apologies for reading your comment wrong
exactly what i meant with the last part of my comment. ps+ and xbox live are the only services i am willing to pay for. psnow and this new ea subscription services really does not make any sense to me or offer me any value i can think of.
in the case of psnnow sony seems to be on a roll with remastering all their hit titles of last gen so why would i want to pay a subscription when i know the big hitters will be remade or even better if the prices shown in beta is any indicat...
"We don’t think asking our fans to pay an additional $5 a month for this EA-specific program represents good value to the PlayStation gamer"
exactly what i was thinking when they made this announcment yesterday and some fans were praising EA. i already pay for both xbox live and ps+ what sense does it make to get another subscription with EA for discounts on games but again if people are willing to pay for that more power to them, i for one will only be paying for l...
I would like to know as well. I have been patient with Sony but their lack of urgency to update the console with basic features is becoming irritating. They NEED beta tester AND constant updates with their customers about future updates to the console. The time for secrecy and waiting for a big event to announce firmware updates is so ps3 era
Sony themselves have said this service is not only about backwards compatibility and would also include ps4 games in the future. It's like game journalist don't bother doing some research
