If Food Wars gets a worldwide release and this much of a marketing push I'll eat Sakata Gintoki's cake.
Iiiiiiiiiiii'm still in a dream, God EAAAAAAAAAAAAAATER. Wait, what?
Well you've had your hands over your ears for 2 years then. Xbox has changed a lot since it launch. Even more so under Spencer over the last year. To be fair, this is from Paul Thurrott's website, A man who has made a job out of closely following and critiquing Microsoft for several years. Not just Xbox.
Only the multiplayer portion is releasing next year which is a little disappointing but it's always worrying when you have 3 studios working together. (Fortunately with no language barrier although Sumo Digital here in Sheffield may sometimes struggle with Reagent and Cloudgine's Scottish accents) And given that 2 of those studios are brand new I just hope they canhit the ground running.
No. Haemorrhaging is the British English spelling and I'm English. In the same way, we spell paediatric instead of pediatric.
If the Nikkei report is to believed MGS V budget was last clocked at over $80m, I actually thought it was higher for some reason but they have definitely made profit. Konami probably wouldn't mind investing $80m if it only took 2-3 years for the game to be made. MGS V and Fox were probably in development for 5 years.
I don't think ...
Crackdown 3 is an odd one. It has a potential to be a fantastic demonstration of Microsoft's cloud-powered future. But it could be a £40 tech demo without much depth. Hoping for the best on this one.
Wildlands not hitting till mid to late 2017 is my bet.
Still don't by the looks of it.
Bare in mind that 22% is on a console with half the install base and with very little association to Metal Gear Solid. And apologies the 24% I quoted was the XOne and 360 combined market share.
For reference, there was 3. Metal Gear collection (doesn't really count), Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and MGS V: Ground Zeroes.
I was surprised when I saw that Xbox One took 24% of sales early on. I doubt the numbers stayed like that, but it was a decent show.
Microsoft would have literally had to offer a lot of money for him to even consider. He's a big Playstation guy, there's nothing wrong with that. Some developers are big Xbox fans and you can tell.
5pb did market it. They ran a few radio shows and competitions tied into the game. But ¥40000 is a lot to pay to play a VN. Microsoft included it in some compilation trailers but most of the time Microsoft tries to market Xbox in Japan they just don't care. No enough reason for a Japanese player to buy the Xbox over the PS4.
Looks at it this way. AAA games aren't easy to win at, Kojima was haemorrhaging money on MGS 5 and don't think it has turned a profit yet. Clover made fantastic games but at the end of the day if your games aren't viable on a business level you're not going to have a job.
Great news for Kojima and his team. Bouncing back so quickly and with some great plans ahead too.
Tomb Raider reboot was always planned as a trilogy and like DarkOcelet said, they already announced they were going to make the 3rd.
You missed out on one of my favourite animes :( Makishima Shogo was a fantastic antagonist and the dominators kicked ass in action.
The appeal for this isn't anywhere near as broad as Scalebound, though. It's a VN, which is hugely limiting already, that was only released in Japan on a console with an almost nonexistent install base. It was destined to fail. I can only assume that Makoto Asada was trying to recapture the niche that the 360 had early on for the VN's and old ...
Meanwhile in Microsoft's 2016 publishing lineup:
Quantum Break
ReCore
Scalebound
Sea of Thieves
Cobalt
The real reason Sony is his best choice is because Microsoft doesn't have any experience assisting with setting up studios in Japan. He would do much better in Tokyo with support from SCE Japan studio.
Can't wait for Konami's official comment on this.
"Kojima is still here working. Please buy our games. Please."
I have a theory. Anything you'd be embarrassed to have on a full sized TV will flourish on a personal sized vita and keep it alive. Criminal girls, DOA Extreme Volleyball, Xblaze, Hyperdimension Neptunia and Hatsune Miku will keep the vita relevant albeit niched.
Rare have long and close ties with Ninty. Phil made the comment about him saying he'd like Rare Replay on Wii U but that requires manpower and Sea of Thieves is Rare's No1 priority. Thinking it would happen instantly is stupid but I can see a smaller port studio stepping up saying they'll repackage all pre-Xbox Rare games for WiiU.
Value is always subjective.
I have to agree with most of his complaints though. Windows 10 for Phone has been a mishandled mess. Uninspired and much-delayed flagships that have miss release dates by months. They basically cancelled Astoria, something that could have been fantastic for people who avoid Windows Phone due to the infamous "app-gap".
