In general, it's actually a very balanced game. Every single character (18 total) appeared in the Killer Instinct cup. That is a feat most 'balanced' games could only dream of.
But why? There is a handful of fun games in here but they aren't capitalising on their previously bought IP.
To be fair, this is actually called for. Someone got onto his Twitter account and announced several rash decisions (including him retiring). After over a thousand retweets and several sites pushing stories, it's reasonable for him to come and clear this up.

Again, probably unrelated. Scalebound got delayed 2 days before Recore. Chances are that Microsoft Studios had a 2016 review scheduled first week back after new year and delayed Recore when they decided it wasn't likely to hit targeted release window.
To be fair, Recore may not be their fault. That may be that Armature (the guys doing the heavy lifting) could be behind schedule or that they are changing direction slightly. Mighty No 9 is just hitting too many platforms day one imho.
