I actually think the author has misunderstood the Saints Row: the Third front cover. I believe they have chosen it because they are the huge companies you named but in their own game. The game is loud and in your face hence why the logo is so big.

PS3s top 5 selling exclusive sales combined is 25.33m
Whereas top 5 Xbox exclusives sales combined is 42.85m
Hardly seems as if they are going. Also Metal Gear solid is going multiplatform for its next game so another huge exclusive is partly gone.
