actually they did report that the money wasn't paid yet, but that there has been made a agreement, in which they would pay for the extra content after delivery, which seems more logically knowing Microft large army of lawyers.
If I remember it correctly Microsoft coy also didn't give full closure on the ammount of 50 million saying it could be less.

agree with you but as side note the ps3 hasn't been as long on the market as it's competitors.
Epic does seem to make a point if silicon knights promised to use the unreal engine on all their future titles.
But because they didn't get the support from epic they developed their own engine apparently using unreal engine technology.
seems to me that epic is going to win this one.

figures that COD 4 needs a hard drive,looking at the game. People who don't wan to play it to full potential but rather play kameo or pinata game are the consumers who are buying the xbox 360 core, which is also the reason why the core version is doing so poorly. This group might also be too young for games like COD4.
Allowing to develop for both ps3 and xbox 360 without any hassle. Without having to worry too much about graphic limits. Might be a Unreal engine killer.

the xbox 360 core was never aimed at the same target group as the premium version it was meant to compete with the Wii. So why care about load times for the xbox 360 core.
If the hard drive would be the problem, they certainly wouldn't delay especially considering their financial position at this moment the can't launch this title soon enough, but do have high stakes in this game which easily explains the delay since failure isn't a option for them

Most multi platform games have been delayed for the ps3. So calling out the xb 360 for delaying the gta IV build is just plain stupid.
The only one gaining from this delay are the consumers and fore mostly take two considering that after the holiday season 2007 the install base of xb360 and ps3 consoles will have grown substantially. Which means a win win situation for take two.
And till then there will be enough of AAA games to enjoy.

I think microsoft did make a good decision by not including a hd-dvd drive, simply because looking at future titles it seems that they are using up all the disk space.
Even though PG4 has problems fitting it on one disk it will still be a good game without reducing the game play time compared to previous incarnations of the game.
Bluy ray may be double edged sword for sony simply because with games like mgs4 with huge budgets may scare smaller companies of on developing games ...

I don't think they really care GTA simply isn't a sytem seller anymore since it's available on both consoles with the xbox 360 having some extra content.
For the holiday season they already have the biggest game seller which is shaping up to break some records. Owning a xbox 360 I know for sure that i don't have enough time to play both halo and gta iv
