There is a major lack of originality out there in the entertainment field, not just games. But speaking to gaming, we NEED alot more originality. There are too many sequels. Don't get me wrong, I love alot of those games/sequels. The truth is, without creators taking old ideas and creating new games or just making sequels there wouldn't be much out there to play. It is very difficult in todays age to come up with truly original ideas, but there are teams out there doing it (team ICO anyone?)....

This was one of my favorite SP games. I am not knocking MP, but if this ends up being a new full game, then I want to see a great SP out of this or i probably wont buy it.
The first one was a real surprise at how much fun it was, and addicting to play. There is so much that could be done with a sequel that I still find it weird that they weren't working on anything, or at least they said way back that they weren't.

just about everything you mentioned is spot on how I feel as well, good on ya. Oh i like when there is change, don't get me wrong. As a matter of fact, a good example of "bigger and more bad arse" for me would be GOD 1 & 2, they are good examples of getting bigger and more epic, but it is done very well and feels well balanced because of the ever advancing storyline, the storyline is getting bigger and more epic. It takes a talented dev team to do it and get it right.

"sameness" can definitely work, it has time and time again in many games, but does require some good thinking during the development stages to keep things in those environments changing and keeping situations moving along, to avoid over repetition.

there usually is no proof from these people, just opinion. But I do hear that it does make them feel better when they spout things like that :)
I can see where you are coming from, however, on my side of the coin, I appreciate exactly what apple is and does, and from that I've been getting greater productivity for the past 12 Years. I've never felt limited in any way, as a matter of fact, after leaving the Windows environment I've seen nothing but better "productivity".

Commenting on your comment, "Apple does it all for you", are you saying that is a good thing or bad thing? I personally think if I am paying good money for a good product and they are "doing it all for me" then i feel i got even more for my money.
